Confessions on Binx’s Recovery

Visiting him today he seemed to be more himself and I was told when I got a call at 9:30pm for an update he had after my visit had a huge change in improving. He was allowing staff to pick him up and pet him. He was eating and drinking like a champ and his urine was clear enough that the catheter might be able to come out tomorrow morning hooray!

That is so major considering I was called at 8am woken to news he was being a pain and not healing as they would expect and unhappy. He was batting and not letting them near him being defiant. He just wanted his mommy that’s all so that two or whatever hours with him as hard as it was to see him that way was definitely what he needed to have happen.

And some photos too.... he is such a little trooper but as one of my friends told me he will pull through this he is strong and a Survivior like his mama. So glad he is so much closer to coming home also end to the exponential vet expenses. Realized today I still need to buy food for his new dietary plan that they haven’t really told me much about to have prepared for his homecoming yet or what prices I’m looking at for now until the rest of his life to be spending on his food. Lol.

So I'm sure everyone is tired of the classic tumblr post begging for money but my cat Winston was attacked by something. I found him hiding in some bushes with his leg torn to pieces, his tendons and some bone was visible. We rushed him to an emergency clinic where just examining him cost $200

After hours of waiting and crying they told me while his back leg has function there is a fracture and letting it heal naturally (with a plate to correct this) would risk infection and take months of painful healing that could likely go very wrong. They recommended we amputate instead. The procedure at that ER animal clinic would have been insanely expensive, I found a nice smaller clinic (at their recommendation) that could do it for less but is still super expensive.

Please help me save my kitty, the whole car ride to the clinic I was crying and he just gently licked my hand. Hes only a year old and still has so much fight left in him.

Well, here I am. A bit desperate but still coherent. I am sure some of you know of my cat Marz though. Made a couple posts about her on this same blog, but things have gotten complicated recently.

I love my cat Marz. I do. She means everything to me, but unfortunately due to her bad habit of scratching my parents furniture, my father has recently given me an ultimatum. Either get rid of the cat, or get her declawed.

Now if you don't know what declawing can do to a cat, it can cause all sorts of medical problems in the future for a feline. It causes pain in the paw when walking, tissue necrosis (tissue death), lameness, and back pain. Removing claws quite literally changes the way a cat's foot meets the ground and is the equivalent of removing the first knuckle of a human's fingers.

So you can see why I do not even want to consider declawing my cat. I just don't wish for her to be in pain but I also don't want to get rid of her. I see her as my own child and want to keep her so I came up with a plan.

I have a minimum wage job but it isn't enough to get Marz registered as an emotional support cat so that I can take her to college with me. I made the decision today that I would be moving into a college dorm but it costs money I do not have, and I to do counseling sessions to get approved for a emotional support cat is going to take much more.

That's why I'm here, asking for assistance. If you could please donate, even if it's just a dollar, it would mean a lot to me and Marz.

I apologize if this was all messily worded. It's just been a bit too much for me lately.

My mom keeps talking about putting her cat down

This is Fudge.  She’s an 8 year old affectionate (yet somewhat awkward) tortie who suffers from frequent UTIs.  Lately there has been blood in her urine and she’s been straining to go to the bathroom.  When it flares up like this she will urinate on the carpet or up against a wall.  She won’t use the litterbox.

We recently moved into a new apartment and my mom was extremely nervous about taking Fudge with us.  She starts acting pretty sketchy when she isn’t feeling well and will often start crying or running around.  She’ll squeeze herself into a corner and urinate.  This afternoon I cleaned it up and discovered that it was bloody.

Two years ago I took her to the vet myself because my mother refused to treat her.  I spent my own money on getting medication for her.  It did the trick and she has been alright until recently.  Now she’s straining, crying, and urinating blood again.  I’m out of a job and I have three cats of my own to care for--I don’t have the money to take her to the vet and get her tested or medicated this time around.

My mother told me that if I can raise the money to take her to the vet, she won’t euthanize her.  Otherwise it doesn’t look like Fudge will stand a chance.  If anyone out there can spare even a dollar to help me with Fudge, it would be greatly appreciated.  I suffer from bipolar disorder and when I’m upset Fudge is always there to drape herself across my lap and make me feel better.  She isn’t my cat, not legally, but she’s like a little sister to me and I would be devastated if my mother chose to put her down, especially because of something so easily fixable.

Please Help! My cat Shadow has serious dental issues. He’s been suffering from this for two months now. I took him to vet and the vet said it would cost around $500 to do dental procedures on him. I can’t afford to have those procedures done, I even applied for a credit card but was immediately denied. So, please help me save my cat Shadow. The sight of him suffering has put tears in my eyes. i love this cat, and he mean so much to me. Before the dental problems, the sight of him would bring me instant joy. Even on days when I’m sad, he would stay by my side til I felt better. Again, please help me save me cat by donating and spreading the word. Shadow and I would be so grateful. God bless.

I need your help to save my baby!!

On May 8th, my cat Rebel was acting very lethargic and hadn't cleaned herself after throwing up, nor had she been eating. After taking her to an emergency clinic and then a vet during regular hours on May 9th, she's not improving. She's still throwing up, despite being on anti-nausea meds.

 X-Rays were done and there is ribbon/string found in her intestines. Her intestines are all twisted and bunched up in a way they shouldn't be. And since it's likely the same gift ribbon I found in her stool, it has probably sliced up her intestines causing even more damage. She was given something to hopefully help the ribbon pass and it didn’t work. She hasn’t been eating or drinking and is severely dehydrated.

Saw a new vet yesterday. Estimate for surgery is $1,800-$2,500. He said if I can leave a deposit of $600, they could start prepping her and stabilizing her for surgery.

At 4pm Pacific Time, I will be taking Rebel back to the vet I went to yesterday to discuss the quality of life vs quantity if I do go through with the surgery (there's a risk of complications because it's been almost a week). If he thinks that she will be able to not only recover with no issues but that there will be minimal to no issues months from now, I will be going through with the surgery. I have an amazing friend who worked out a way to make it so the deposit is covered today.
