More details about the custom I did this month for @barrel_pig It’s a 12" 1/2 x 8" x 5/8" Actually, I took a template that I use for me too. One of my best outlines to be honest. Simple but super effective. I didn’t add any fins, channels or whatever, I wanted to shape him something that I’m sure about ( maybe I’ll shape him another one with channels or something different later..... you know.... when you can get the best test pilot.....😎). So the only modification in the shape is that the tuck in the tail is slightly longer, as Jake charges steep walls, and most of the time super hollow waves, that sled needs to grip well in the wave’s face. Light concave all the way getting smoother in the tail, but still. Light rocker ( I’m not a fan of big rockers, they push too much water, beside the lines of bodysurfing ride let you reduce rocker and then gain some planning) Lamination is standard with 4oz with lap / 4oz +6oz with lap on deck. The specificity on this one is that I added some carbon stripes under the palm and the fingers to prevent highest pressures ( maximum stress for the board under Jake’s hand that one sure thing!!...) I really hope this board will fit, anyway it was good fun to shape it and think about the customization for Jake. And now I feel honored that such a charger/talented bodysurfer as him got this handplane in his quiver. And last but not least had such a good feeling with this amazing guy!!
