Do you think the faeries in Cassandra Clare books are similiar to what real fae are like?

The Fae Speak:

No, they are not. The Fae in her books for starters are highly based on the human religious ideas of Angels and Demons. It’s inferred in her writing that her philosophy of the origins of the Fae are that they were the offspring of Angels and Demons, which is not true. At all. Fae are Nature spawned of their own right, not created from other beings.

Secondly, and the most blaring wrong, is that she highly portrays her fae into the whole idea of a royal monarchy ruler ship, and a formalized court society of ‘people’. Fae do not follow a humanized idea of a society or a court system of leadership. There are no knights and foot soldiers of a Queen and her heirs, etc. Those are human concepts. Fae don’t follow rules or organized societal formations that limit or control one’s behavior. Those are human ideas that classify and tell people how to behave and act. Those are binding and limitations that go against the True Nature of whoever is in it. Fae uphold Truth no matter what. They are only ruled by Nature and Nature is the raw natural Truth of all things, brutal or otherwise.

It’s also washing out of a tremendous variation of Fae Species into one clump idea of what is Fae.

She also pushes in her novels the ideas of the Fae being beautiful human-like beings, which is not, if not mostly not, always the case. Fae appear human and beautiful mostly through glamour while interacting with humans to lure and get from them whatever they want. This idea of human ideals of beauty being their true looks, is simply not true. It’s human-centric and self righteous to human standards of beauty. Fae are very beautiful, but not always by a human standard of what that means.

So, no. To put it simply, her portrayal of Fae is much what is still wrong with most media portrayals. It’s not helping and is what is instilling wrong ideals and histories of Fae in people.

@scarose134: I honestly thought this last season of The Middle was the worst one. The stories were boring and tired, and it seemed like everyone didnt have their heart in it. The finale was kinda lame. Why was Sue's happy ending getting married? What about her job and career? Why did Axl move back to Orson? He finally got out of there and was starting a new life. I also think Axl shouldve ended up being a writer. (I know Brick did but hear me out) Axl was very imaginative, an excellent liar, quick thinking and quick-witted. He and his mom have both refered to themselves as the dreamers of the family. Frankie even told him he had a big imagination and shouldve taken a writing class. Anyway, whatever. Doesnt matter.

season 9 had some great moments, but the overall story line was weak. in the moment i loved the flash forwards, but they come off very rushed and cheesy now. i wish they had just not had that and left it to the imagination. i never thought about it but axl being a writer would have been really interesting??? now i want it haha

Can the fae have children with humans?

Yes, some Fae have been known to have children with humans. A lot of species of Fae are able to either physically, or through magic/energy transfer to aide a woman in pregnancy. Most if they do procreate with a human, do not stay around after to help raise them, and if the child by chance bears the traits of the Fae parent, often times, then, they are taken away with the Fae. These children are often glamoured to either be still born, or to die soon after birth, much like a changeling. Most Fae/human offspring resemble the human parent for all intensive purposes. The Fae is recessive.

He says, yes, but not always in the ways that most people think of them. He says, though, that he doesn’t want to get into discussing other beings, when that isn’t what this blog or his purpose is about. But he does say, that some Fae are shapeshifters, but not all shapeshifters are Fae.
