i passed my oral genetics exam yesterday, scored 27/30. not the highest grade, but i think im happy and satisfied. it had been a long time since i last passed an exam cause of my shitty health, so im really glad im back on track.

i got asked:

• robertsonian translocation mechanism

• trisomy 13

• ultrasound signs for down syndrome (professor was happy i knew a lot about nuchal translucency)

• duplicate dominant recessive epistasis and examples

• bombay phenotype

• marfan syndrome

as soon as i got home i fainted on the bed and slept for 15 hours straight IM NOT JOKING.

Today i saw a surgery in the maxillo-facial surgery ward. The resident guy i stalked the other day was actually the one who let me in there, he told me to stay near him and not to be in the way of the surgeons / nurses.

It was really fucking cool. the patient was a 17 years old who was punched in the frontal bone with a knuckleduster.

He looked fine, but he actually had this huge displaced fracture hidden by slight swelling and a tiny oedema.

I even took a picture of his skull with the skin pulled down but i understand that it's a bit gore-y so im not gonna post it.

i like the resident guy who let me in with him, he's cool and he gets that i dont want to just sit around during TA hours. im going to keep stalking him in the ward hahah.

it's rainy and gloomy and ive been depressed in the past few days, but im actually gonna get some work done.
