Penn's been worried, mostly about how Laertes left. He hasn't heard from her for a few days now, and the talk with that clown has only solidified that worry.

The clown wouldn't tell cat where they were, and he even asked the damn Eyevatar. No luck. So he's out looking now, trying to use the ticking to find them. Which is proving difficult. He can only tell from it getting slightly louder or softer, and if he listens too long, cat gets confused. But cat's pretty sure he's going the right way. He has to be.

The sound is…odd. Not quite the way he’s used to hearing. Like the clock is jammed on its final tick, not moving forward, not moving back. Stagnated in the lack of stagnation.

He isn’t sure what to make of it, but as he turns a street corner near a dingy once-broadway-now-cinema, it seems to get louder.

Beauty and the Beast: Scene Two

* Maurice’s voice echoes from inside a cell*

BELLE - We have to get you out of here!

BELLE - I won't leave you!

*Suddenly, a hand reaches out from the darkness, grabbing Belle by the shoulder and whipping her around* 

BELLE - I've come for my father.  Please let him out! Can’t you see he’s sick?

BELLE - But he could die.  Please, I'll do anything!

BELLE - Oh, there must be some way I can... *pauses, a thought coming to her mind*

BEAST - Yes... but you must promise to stay here, forever.

BELLE-  *ponders the situation and realizes she can't see the captor*

BEAST - *moves over to unlock the cell*  

BELLE - *collapses to the floor, her head in her hands*  

*the door unlocks with a click*

MAURICE - *rushes past the Beast and over to Belle* 

MAURICE - I'm old, I've lived my life-

BEAST- *grabs Maurice, dragging him downstairs*

BEAST - *forces Maurice into a carriage* 

*the carriage rises up, moving on its own. It disappears into the distance* 

BEAST - *turns and makes his way back up to the tower* 

BELLE - *staring after the carriage in shock*
