“Um, I actually got used to earthy flavors when I was held captive at a wheatgrass commune, so.”

“Oh.” Ted nodded.

“I just needed some air. My brother is being all dramatic because he shot a turkey in the neck.”

“I see.”

“He should’ve reviewed turkey CPR or whatever with you first. I bet you’re an expert,” Alexis flirted.

“Yea, that’s not really a thing but thank you for believing in my competency.”

“Mhm. I told him not to go. Imagine him trying to shoot something else?”

“Oh, deer!”

Is This More Than You Bargained For Yet?

David listened to the raindrops as they tapped against the window panes. His eyes, though, bore into Patrick as if he would disappear at any moment. His hand was splayed across Patrick’s chest and David felt the rise and fall of his breath beneath the blanket. He looked angelic when he slept and David had missed this. Him. If the way he held David this close, even in his sleep, was any indication then Patrick had missed it, too. They both made regrettable mistakes but neither of them would bargain their love with secrets ever again. Shit. Was this love?

We Just Need a Body

“Absolutely not. I don’t play the baseball,” David protested.

“Please, David? You just have to stand there. I’ll be next to you the whole time!” Patrick pleaded. He leaned into David and raised a scant eyebrow. “Did I mention there’s a barbecue afterward?”

David squeezed his eyes shut. “Mkay. I think it’s unfair to bring that up knowing I’ll do almost anything if I get food as a reward.”

“I’ll make sure it’s not the only reward you get,” Patrick purred into his ear.

David’s breath hitched and he nodded in quick succession. “Yes. Yep. Give me the baseball suit.”
