Patrick looks up as David comes back from the Cafe.

“I never knew playing the baseball in the water was a thing,” David says, handing Patrick his tea.

“What do you mean?” Patrick asks.

“Bob just said to call Gwen if you were interested in the swimming baseball finale thing.”

Patrick laughs as he interprets what David is saying.

“He probably said playoff baseball pool.”

“Right, playing the baseball in the pool.”

“There’s no actual pool, David. We’re placing bets on the playoffs.”

“Sounds dumb either way,” David says. “Also, can someone please tell me who the fuck is Gwen?”

We Just Need a Body

“Absolutely not. I don’t play the baseball,” David protested.

“Please, David? You just have to stand there. I’ll be next to you the whole time!” Patrick pleaded. He leaned into David and raised a scant eyebrow. “Did I mention there’s a barbecue afterward?”

David squeezed his eyes shut. “Mkay. I think it’s unfair to bring that up knowing I’ll do almost anything if I get food as a reward.”

“I’ll make sure it’s not the only reward you get,” Patrick purred into his ear.

David’s breath hitched and he nodded in quick succession. “Yes. Yep. Give me the baseball suit.”
