I made a couple modifications to this drawing to celebrate Chrono Trigger's 30th birthday, since I wasn't too happy about the previous version

This one's more dramatic, exactly what I like :)

I wrote my first ever Chrono Trigger fic! It only took me 2 years to complete after waiting like 29 years in this fandom to finally write something. Slight au and a retelling of the fall of Zeal through Janus' eyes. I played with world building again which is one of my favorite things to do.

Summary: "Remember that they must never know that you are afraid." Schala had been Janus' caregiver and teacher from his earliest memory. She had taught him the rules to survive in the social mire that was the court. But the rules all changed when a Prophet came to the palace and began to haunt their steps. The rules had to suit the violence their lives became at the hands of a mad queen. This follows Janus in the months after the Prophet's arrival and his return to Zeal as that same Prophet and had to stand in the room to lose his sister a second time.

putting together an au where chrono cross happens in the 21st century and magus figures out schala will show up after all is said and done but the closest time period he can travel to in order to get there is 1999 so he does that and kinda just waits

(also the shaker brothers + ketchop are all goth trans women with a ska band. no i haven't thought about the actual playable characters yet. i'm so normal)
