WHEW OKAY E-BEGGING TIME!!!!! HELLO!!!!!!
Hi, my name is shrooms, I am a trans guy, here's your obligatory sad life story. I kinda come from a shitty background. Parents entirely unwilling to co-sign student loans, couldn't keep up with full time work plus full time college, which was all you could do when you have to bear ALL your own expenses, dropped out of college as a result bc my mental health took a hit and my grades tanked, have been entirely incapable of getting any sort of professional training except for that one time my dad promised to help me get a welding certificate but then blindsided me with only paying half after I was already going through the enrollment process when I had no job and had to scramble to find part time work in the middle of the pandemic (obviously did not go well).
ANYWAYS, I decided to try and do some free training, only to realize at the last moment that "free course" actually meant "trial course, you have to subscribe to finish it" (hi, codecademy). Well, I already have one course half finished, but I signed up for the free trial leading up to the annual pro subscription, because, well, the pro subscription offers boot camps and certification courses and whatnot.
The idea is to cram as much as physically possible in the free trial period, but I'd like to at least TRY to cover the full subscription and get a full year to try and get at least a couple of coding certificates even if I'm not too great at them.
I can't rely on my family for help, so I am here to humbly ask Tumblr to help me raise $300 to cover the annual subscription and taxes and all (rounding up). I have it set up for Afterpay via CashApp, so I think I'll need to cover $65 every two weeks (if my math is right), so I can delay a bit. I'm not sure if the first payment will be in one week or three, since I've never used Afterpay, so I'm scrambling at the moment.
That being said, my CashApp is $mintyyleaf. Since all of the payments will be through my CashApp balance, it would be easier if I could get donations through there, but I also have a PayPal I can provide in messages, it's just a pain and feels like money laundering to transfer to my bank and then to my CashApp lol.
Anyways, that's all! I will still do as much as I can in the seven days I have, but I'd SUPER appreciate it if I could get the majority of money raised in the next week. I'll be pinning this post and tracking current money raised in tag reblogs. When the post is unpinned, that means I have the full amount, so double check before you send!
