One of the teachers is leaning in with the fact that the kids love saying "six seven" by switching her call for them to pay attention to be "Four five!" and the kids reply back "SIX SEVEN!!!".
It's the most successful way to get them to pay attention that I've yet to see, lol.

sunrise, biology class, trip to a park, and the aftermath of my coffee accident :/
picked up my school books
3 hours of library work (sorted books, prep for monday, admin stuff etc.)
washed my backpack, wallet & pencil cases because i spilled coffee inside my bag :(

For anyone wondering why I have been silent the last few months/weeks/days. I am about 3 weeks away from graduating with my MLIS (Master's in Library and Information Science) degree, with a concentration in the School Library Program with a 4.0! It's been a busy 2.5 years going to graduate school on top of teaching, but it will all be worth it! If I haven't read the newest chapters of your work or you're waiting on me to update my own work in progress or a new one-shot, I am SO sorry. I will get to it soon! I have turned in everything. But I need to take the certification exam on Tuesday then it'll just be a waiting game until December 15, my graduation date!

Why does writing blurbs for library books feel like I'm extracting my own teeth
Each blurb is only a few sentences. Each book is a short children's book. Why does each blurb take me at least 20 minutes.
This isn't poetry. Maybe the struggle is in being succinct. I'm very bad at that.
The setting: Me at work, reading a book about Pluto* to my students
1st Grade 3: Where did the planets in our solar system come from?
Me: *explaining in kid language about the sun's accretion disk*
2nd Grade 3: No, it was God! God make the planets! >:(
Me: *makes direct eye contact with the Grade 3 teacher, who looks equally uncomfortable and tense* Well, different people believe different things. This is what scientists say happened.
