#school ramble

Today I go back to school. I feel sort of nervous, especially after yesterday (when i panicked and wrote an 800 word short story within an hour after getting an assignment). I wasn't supposed to rush ahead and complete the assignment all in one fell swoop, but I panicked and rushed. Now i have to try and pretend like i didn't jump ahead in period 1, because i'd feel deeply embarrassed to admit to jumping ahead like that. I feel like there's more I could say here, but I don't know if i want to waste my whole morning writing this post. So i'm gonna end this post here for now. And since i can't think of anything else to say, i suppose i'll this here. wish me luck, I guess?

Little school ramble related to our lost class

Okay, so, I'm not religious, I don't really believe in any Gods, but I love seeing different cultures and traditions, and that also includes different religions!

We ised to have a class where we would talk partially about ethics and values (is that the English word for valeurs?) and other stuff related like our fundamental rights, and partially about different religions, their origins and their ways of doing things. Now, I have to admit, that class was kinda boring until last year, but I think that's not completely the class's fault, but also partially the teacher's fault (look, I love that teacher, but we learned about mainly one religion, Christianity and its branches). Our teacher last year really did a deep dive into each of the religions we talked about and it was genuinely super interesting. Anyways, long story short, this class got replaced.

Now, the class we have, which is basically a mix of like, politics, modern day history (as in, this century), a sprinkle of sex education, and some stuff about how the system works, the thing is, for most of these, we already have a class for it. Yeah sure, it completes what we learned and add important information, but we now mainly focus on our little part of the world.

Look, I don't mind nationalism (hopefully that's the English word), and teaching us more about our country, but I think that in a multicultural setting, it is still really important to learn about the other stuff from around the world! And I love learning about it! Cultures are beautiful! Religions are beautiful! And I will admit I am ignorant on a lot of things! But that's why I love learning about them!

My brain is so loud that I actively need something else to be playing when I’m trying to go to sleep. like, I was drifting just before typing this but I heard a sound and opened my eyes then was hit by pure silence.

uh off topic cuz I meant to write this last week.

I like my ela and history teacher. I mean, he’s technically a substitute so… I guess I can’t say teacher but he’s been in my class for most of the year.

and while he scares me, he’s also pretty cool. He’s put the kids in my class almost in their place? He’s told girls they can’t go to the bathroom because they went during math or something and (since he’s gone to med school and was a type of surgeon before) told them that they don’t need to go to the bathroom right that second.

after the assignment was done, he let them go one at a time. He can be pretty chill sometimes too.

the main thing that prompted me to write this was the fact that (I over share a lot), the last couple times I’ve had to directly talking to him face to face due to testing, he’s crouched down to be at my level. Which, im sure he does for most of the class if he has room (he is tall), but for me, it means a lot. Since he would be towering over me when talking to me, I’d feel intimidated and overwhelmed. That isn’t good. I might give attitude or just straight up freeze and not talk. Though I know he can’t hurt me, my brain doesn’t seem to know that. I just really appreciate that he crouched to talk to me. It makes me feel safe.

some rat kid walked up to me at school and told me he had a crush on me while i was thinking about qsmp jaiden for the 50th time today ^_^ i quickly took notice of him and told him "i don't care"
