it's the middle of the night so obviously it's time for a vent about ableism in my private school!

first off, i cannot use a wheelchair on flare days because my school is not even ADA compliant. like, not one bit. the doorways are too small, there's one elevator that only sometimes works, and the desks are arranged so that i can barely get by on crutches or in a scooter.

second, most of the kids are privileged white kids who have never seen a disabled person in their life, so naturally using mobility aids is a sign of "faking it" or simply not trying hard enough in life. they are under the impression that if my family had the kind of money theirs does, i would be cured. (yes, they are failing science class in case you were wondering)

third, they have an extremely strict absence policy so endless doctors appointments and flare up days are not allowed. my friend who has fibromyalgia could barely walk yesterday but came to school because they would start sending nasty attendance emails if she didn't come.

TL;DR = my school sucks at being ADA compliant.

i study so fucking hard every time but i always get an F, how is that even possible people tell me that i'm good at it when we study TOGETHER and suddenly on the test i either can't remember how to do it despite reviewing minutes before the test or i think i can do it and then still get an F, why am i such a fucking dissapointment why can't i do it im barely passing it, why is math on tests so hard to me even if i did the exact same the day before without problems, i can't do this anymore

I’m actually so done with these fucking exams, I’m overwhelmed because I have FIVE EXAMS IN THE RANGE OF THREE DAYS.

WHY WOULD THEY PUT IRISH AND GEOGRAPHY ON THE SAME DAY.

WHY WOULD THEY GIVE US TWK HOURS TO WRITE LIKE FIFTEEN ESSAYS FOR ENGLISH.

WHATS THE POINT IN LEARNING ABOUT THE SHITTEST POEMS, NOVELS AND DRAMAS IF WE CANT HOLD A FUCKING CONVERSATION IN IRISH.

WHY ARE MATHS AND HISTORY ON THE SAME DAY??? THEY BOTJ HAVE ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF SHIT TO LEARN.

AND THATS BOT ALL!! MY MOTHERS EXPECTS ME TO GET DISTINCTIONS ACROSS ALL MY SUBJECTS. AND IVE BEEN HAVING DREAMS ABOUT THIS. MY AIBLINGS GET TO GO TO DUBLIN ANS TO CARLOW WHILE IM STUCK IN MY FUCKING HOUSE ON THE VERGE OF TEARS COS I CANT MEMORISE FIVE HUNDRED IRISH ESSAYS. I FEEL LIKE KMS ISTFG.
