Profanity Hill Porter (Schooner Exact)
Brewery : Schooner Exact Beer : Profanity Hill Porter Style : Porter Variance : None
8 / 10
In honor of a beer that pays it’s respects to profanity, I only find it fitting to start this review with the wise words of Blink 182. Shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cock sucker, mother fucker, tits, fart, turd, and twat. I fucked your mom… If blue berry hill is where one can find their thrill then clearly profanity hill is where they go to fuck afterwards. The only thing I really don’t get is how all of the @!#$%&* nonsense ended up being slang for cursing. What happened to some good ol’ fashioned pig latin instead to hide it. Hitsay. Itchbay. Onaldday Rumptay Ancay Ucksay Ymay Uckingfay Ickday. Anyways, this starts with a super chocolatey rich sweetness with some smoke and campfire joining in quickly after with an almost cherry like taste with a nice bitterness with a nice nutty flavor to close. This thing is a great example of the style especially since there are no additions to it and my only real disappointment with it is that it’s the last of the beers that Tavour (www.tavour.com) sent me. This is a great buy for those who are looking to get into blacker and thicker things like Beyonce’s thighs or are just looking for a smooth and delicious porter to end their night with. As for you graduated drinkers out there, this is a good pickup because of it’s interesting flavor profile so grab one if you can!

Schooner Exact's (Seattle, WA) Hoppy the Woodsman (2014), a whiskey-barrel-aged strong ale, 8.0%, 22oz, $11.50 from Imperial Bottleshop in southeast Portland. Standard strong ale caramel and malt richness, very creamy with nice head retention. Whiskey aroma, lighter on the tongue. Quite enjoyable.
S02E02 – Barrel Aged Imperial Porter by Schooner Exact Schooner Exact is a relative newcomer to Japan and their Barrel Aged Imperial Porter is anything but common.

had a locally produced (seattle) beer pairing/dinner party last sunday... almost 3 gallons of beer were consumed... (all from growlers picked up that morning)
We enjoyed:
First Course: Silver City: Whoop Pass IPA
i really like this one, and on draft, its far less sweet, and more hoppy... everyone loved it (as it got them buzzing pretty fast)
we paired it with: Truffle Salted Almonds (snack) Rye Toast with Pickled Plum Jam Pigs in Down Comforter (puff pastry wrapped sausages)
had a nice salad after this and between the next course of beer
2nd Beer: Hilliards: Regimental Scottish Blonde
Everyone LOVED this beer. it was a great example of a scottish ale, and was picked by my wife to pair with the main course (which it did perfectly). i guess hilliards is a really new setup out in ballard, and i really wanna check out their place after having this beer.
Paired with: Bag Baked Salmon over Spinach Chanterelle and Blue Cheese Ravioli Finally, the dessert course...
Schooner Exact: Hoppy The Woodsman
This beer is aged in burbon barrels, and it totally tastes like it! if this is your sort of thing, GO BUY IT NOW IF YOU CAN. it wont be around for longer then this season.. again, everyone went NUTS for this beer, and it paired so well with the dessert, our guests were crying tears of joy.
Paired with: Vanilla Ice Cream Sandwiches these were made with our very popular ranberry oatmeal cookie and lopez island's ice cream
