A retelling of the epic journey of Odysseus back to Ithaca, against all odds & the gods themselves, set in a rich scifi galaxy far away
Why write TheOdyssey as scifi, you ask? Not to be different. Not to be cute. Not to follow "trends".
I want to recapture the same sense of wonder and impossible odds of the original AT THE TIME IT WAS WRITTEN.
In the 21st century, the sea has almost no mysteries left. Space does.
In the 21st century, the distances and travel means between Troy and Ithaca are meaningless. But not if they're separated by light-years, in a vast galaxy.
In the 21st century, we know there are no Gods who rule the world. Oligarchs do.
And that's why if I'm re-telling this story now, in the 21st century, it has to be set in space, in a galaxy far far away...
