I want to introduce myself!

My name is GhoulishVia here on Tumblr, but if you ever spot my books on a shelf one day, they’ll be under F. Sullivan.

Here’s a little about me:

I’m colorblind 👓 (and yes, my glasses are basically part of my personality at this point).

I’m 20, and a proud night owl—though I’ll admit, my sleep schedule runs on chaos.

I’ve been writing since middle school, and lately I’ve been diving deep into sci-fi: think horror vibes, little to no romance, and worlds that feel sharp around the edges.

I outline chapters as I go, which means my process is equal parts organized and unhinged.

My favorite character I’ve written is Tobi: he’s legally blind, wears sunglasses anyway, and could outsmart just about anyone.

Comfort series? Naruto, hands down.

Music taste? PHONK all the way. 🎶

First fandom I ever fell into was Marvel (and honestly, I never really climbed out).

I’m still learning how to connect with people on here (lowkey bad at it 💀), but I’d love to meet other writers, readers, or anyone who enjoys nerding out about stories, fandoms, or just vibing late at night.

Short Story- Rachel - Jungle Nature Preserve 1/1 Rachel waved her student ID card to gain free admission to a small nature preserve not far from where she lived. The skeptical human attendant looked it over extra closely before finally gesturing her to enter. Rachel wasn't surprised, there were only a handful of elves attending her school. The environment of this microclimate was different from the rest of Al'via. Lush, moist, humid, held in place by a long-term programmed magic spell. Hopefully managed better than the environmental transformation spell that spiraled out of control and sank the surface continents ages ago, she thought. She moved deeper into the small jungle. Ahead of her was what appeared to be an ancient temple, but scientists said these were no more than 100 years old. This is one thing she didn't understand. Archaic structures just appeared one day all over Al'via and nobody seemed to care where they came from and what they were for? The calls of exotic birds pierced the air as she approached the entrance. Small waterfalls trickled down aged stone steps into clear pools full of tiny fish. She had to place entirely to herself, like it was her own private world. She imagined herself as being the first elf to discover this ancient temple, a brave explorer mapping the wilderness. Inside the temple was an intricately carved stone altar lit by a solitary lantern. Reaching out a hand, she lightly touched the cool surface. And for an instant she was in another place, outside a temple lit by neon pink and purple lights. Odd synthetic music was playing, alien and unfamiliar. Stumbling backwards, she jerked her hand away. Everything instantly returned to normal. Hands shaking, she touched the altar again. Nothing. And again. Still nothing. She shook her head. The vision the magical deer showed her. Now this. I haven't posted art projects in a while, I plan on it at some point when I'm not job hunting but I wanted to share this moment. I've been working on my scifi novel for years, doing world building, research, and took classes to improve my writing. I haven't worked on the novel in a long time cause life got in the way, I had random chunks going nowhere, and the middle was difficult to pass. Something just snapped in me and I've been in a writing frenzy for the last week or so. I'm on page 138, full steam ahead, and I'm still in shock that after such a long writers block I found out I was capable of doing so much in little time. Ravage, my novel, deals with a lot of issues I'm passionate about: genetic engineering, the morality of it, global warming, the future and the relationship between animals, nature and people. I've been angry at the state of the world and enraged at injustices along with finding another job, and I'm so thankful I managed to channel that rage into something positive. Some folks have probably seen artwork of Rhi who is the main character and for those of you that haven't, feel free to take a look. Writerblr Intro

Why haven’t I done this yet? Not sure, really. Just sorta didn’t?

Anyways, hi! I’m Lynn. Or Andy. Or Andian. I get called lots of names. As a writer, my pen name is M. S. Lynn, but I’ve been using the username @therealandian​ for ages, so most people still call me Andy. I do get some Lynns, though.

I’ve been writing since grade school, but it really started to kick off in about 6th grade when I wrote my first long (for the time) Marvel fanfiction. Yes, I started as a fic writer, but it’s taught me a lot of things. Namely, what people actually want in stories. I still occasionally write fics, but I’ve been working more on original stuff for the past several years.

One of those original works is Threads of Reality, which is a long, convoluted story I started planning 4-5 years ago. The first book in the series, Burning Lies, is about Kaetren Sol, a teenager living in the land of Ātarla, trying very hard to stop the Aëlin-Avocri, a group of people similar to elves, from destroying the capital of an important trading empire. It’s still a WIP, but if you’re interested in fantasy with a hint of sci-fi, you might want to stick around.

I also just recently started writing the first chapter of the second book as well, currently codenamed “SD.” That one is more based in science fiction, and involves lots of aliens, magic, and family bonds.

I post about the series on here a lot, so if you’re a fan of sci-fi, fantasy, the collision of the two, gray heroism, and (not-so-)subtle commentary on life, then you may want to stick around.

A little bit about me: I’m a sophomore in college majoring in French and German Education, although I have an interest in novel editing as well. I enjoy naps, writing, drawing, memes, and mildly confusing storylines. I read more fanfiction than actual published books, I think about life a bit too much, I probably have an undiagnosed anxiety disorder, and I’m asexual. I’m also Christian, which is a bit of a weird combination to some people, but life is strange.

If you’re a sci-fi/fantasy writerblr too, let me know! I’d love to see more about other people’s WIPs, and I always enjoy reading excerpts. It’d be nice to see a few more on my timeline.
