Think about the whumper being the only one to take care of the whumpee. Like the whumper takes someone from a small ground they’ve captured and make the whumpee sick/break something and then they put them back to the group.
After that the whumper watched from afar to watch the group scramble to help them but instead the group just kind of leaves that person somewhere and doesn’t react otherwise. Like the whumper hears things said to the whumpee like “we’re trying to get out stop whining.” Or “it’s just a broken leg stop being a baby.” Or something along those lines and just comes back and takes he whumpee.
At first the whumpee is terrified because this person just attacked them earlier but then they start to relax a little when they’re laid on a soft bed and the whumper starts treatment. As they continue treating the whumpee they’re completely disgusted at how the team has treated a member. Like the whumpee is given tea and murmurs to themselves “I don’t have to make my own tea?” Or the whumpee gets pushed back into bed when they try to get up and the whumper hears “I can stay in bed?”
And the whumper ups attack in the rest of the team because fuck them and what they’ve done to the ray of sunshine that the whumper is so easily getting attached to. The whumpee leans into the whumper’s every touch even though the whumper is what caused the pain and honestly the whumper is ready to protect the whumpee from their team at this point.
