honestly death note is pretty funny if you change some stuff around, because you then get a 'friendgroup' of three barely adults with 2 overthinking weirdos who keep taking looooooong pauses after each reply and 1 normal person trying (and failing) to date her own boyfriend, and this is all happening while they are trying to solve a conspiracy theory-level absurd mass murder case. they also all hate each other in different ways.

this is like Scooby Doo but Gone Wrong. Scooby Doo if Scooby was a death god, and instead of Scooby Snacks he liked apples.

One thing I have to praise 90s Scooby Doo for is making a rock band play actual rock music instead of some more pop tune that's more palatable for kids. A lot of cartoons do this thing where we see a rock band but they play more pop music with rock touches, but the Hex Girls went all out with the goth rock inspo and I love them for that!
