@foxi-is-a-nice-crumb @clownsnake I guess that makes sense! It seems like an easy thing to edit out, though. Not like the Ruby dress situation, where they took someone who was being edited to be male and put her in an unmistakably feminine outfit--this is something even I could edit out of each frame in like thirty seconds, considering Steven Universe’s use of flat colors.
If that was the point, then I’m not sure it succeeded. Oh well.
@scopedradstag how dare you inflict this upon me
hugs aren’t always foolproof
It was subtle in the "Candy" postscript, on Dirk's ship, but its worth noting that on a ship with life support there is confirmation of Terezi being there and tech present which could theoretically keep a body alive allowing two critical assumptions; that things in player inventories are in contextual stasis (messaging systems still alert iirc), and that Dirk would be too self absorbed to stop someone from abusing The Golden Hour principle. Its possible at least one Seer will undermine him.
oh yeah, the line about cracking a tooth on not human foods and the ruby slippers, certainly hints at her
and the fact that they were scattered down a hallway when Terezi is known for depressive moods where she makes a mess of herself, hmm.
I don’t know what you mean by someone abusing the golden hour or what player inventories has to do with anything though?
I re-read that page again and no one mentions taking anything in or out of player inventories?
One thing though, Dirk likes to keep bowls of candy around for his guests, more and more we just see where the little ticks of Doc Scratch behavior comes in
I don’t follow the Manga too close, and need to catch up on the Anime but. Isn’t the Nomu’s appearance because so many Quirks in their bodies makes them unstable or something? If I’m remembering that right, could Izuku have an AFO related quirk such as, mmm, being able to safely handle an Unusual Number Of Quirks (but not having a built in way of getting them?)
yep! its definitely something ive thought long about but the fact is we just dont know that much about ofa
the quirk could work kinda like afo and hold up the previous holders quirks combining them with ofa unknowingly and when they get passed off... well... after ofa would fade so would their original quirk? rendering them quirkless. but its possible that they would have died before finding this out and all might was quirkless already so we cant find out from him
ANYWAY as i was saying the quirk itself could hold the power and let a holder wield it when it thinks its nice and filled
of course the question is why it didnt before, why not when all might had it? it wouldve helped him a lot in the long run with his first battle with afo im sure. but. the quirks never revealed themselves even though all might couldve handled them with ease
which leads you to think that maybe the quirks couldnt reveal themselves before or else it mightve damaged the holder, opening the quirk and allowing more in mightve worked as a corruption and ended ofa right there by turning its holder into a mindless beast
but then theres izuku
why would the quirks reveal themselves to him? is it simply because the core is filled to the brim or is it possible he has a similar quirk to afo and doesnt realize? a quirk that allows him to hold multiple without repercussions?
ofa is embedded in a persons original quirk if there is one present so it can sense that “yes this person wont suffer if we crack the door open” and so crack open they did, just very slightly since the quirk is still a powerhouse izuku can just barely handle
my person theory is that izuku doesnt have afo, but a passive quirk similar to the first holder, unnoticed until there is another quirk or 3 in him, the ability to hold several quirks - he cant take and give, only hold
as for his toe joint, its possible that early generations still had theirs and a quirk at the same time, or it was more common as an anomaly before fading out as the generations went on (but of course someone from 200 years ago could pass it off to their offspring... in a new society where that extra joint means no chance of a quirk)
SORRY for the long rant im just... REALLY interested in this topic
