I accept only one reason why Kuai Liang is not a cryomancer in the new timeline, but the exact opposite force of nature: it’s all to keep Tomas warm and happy, especially since Tomas is a regular human in said timeline.
Also, attentive viewers get not one, but two Kuai Liang/Tomas in this. :) But I'm adding this, just in case (apologies for the quality):
Please, correct me if I’m wrong, and I apologise if I am, but I think the decorative pattern of clouds in the background is Chinese. I’ve seen it before and decided to try to draw it (not sure how accurate it is) to make things look a bit livelier. It’s my headcanon that Kuai Liang, after moving to Japan, has plenty of things in his own living space that remind him of his homeland.

── .✦ tomáš's mantle is kouř, while his twin sister has the mantle of pára, and their mother's is čadit. táňa's is kobalt. táňa is partially the reason why tomáš began to say, "where there is smoke, there's fire!" as kouř, tomáš is deeply adored by those in his clan, even though he can certainly have a mean streak since he has personally seen how ugly the world can get.

── .✦ however, when bi-han's betrayal to earthrealm came, tomáš did indeed stand by kuai liang's side. and while most of the lin kuei's subclans stand with bi-han, the lovci are completely on the new shirai ryu's side.
