SCP-447-2 RE: SCP-882

So apparently 447-2 (the green slime that can't touch dead bodies but makes a great salad dressing) when refined into a lubricant was applied to "all joints and connections" of 882 (the random assembly of metal) after it was removed from its seawater bath. In addition to removing all the rust, it "reduced grinding and noise by 50%". However, "SCP-882 is completely silent at all times, no matter what level of activity SCP-882 reaches". How can SCP-447-2 reduce the noise of a silent object? I fear there is an oversight on the part Dr Clef's research team.
