Top 15 Buck x Tommy fics I’ve read (Oct-Nov 2025)
all this love i've thrown away by jamesandanthony [G]
The first thing Tommy notices upon coming back to his senses is the cold.
Despite the rain, he doesn't remember the day being particularly cool when he'd left for work that morning so he cracks open his eyes to take stock of what is almost certainly some kind of situation with a capital S.
Ah yes.
The ground had swallowed him up as he'd landed.
Silly of him to forget.
Cuts A Straight Line Down Through The Heart by Harmlessvarietyofgardensnake [E]
“Hi,” Tommy says, smiling at him. Smiling like nothing’s wrong, like Buck hadn't dropped a grenade on their chances of getting back together, like the entire previous day hadn't happened. Smiling in the same clothes he'd been wearing.
“I-I thought you had a shift,” Buck says, and Tommy looks at him funny.
“Not until tomorrow,” he says. “Didn't want to leave without feeding you.”
And Tommy gently taps his stomach with the back of his hand before turning away, and Buck’s entire world shifts on its axis when he gets hit with an intense wave of déjà vu. It's so bad that he worries, once again, that he's having a neurological episode. It intensifies when he sees the spread of food—the same spread of food.

Buck goes to sleep after baking banana muffins at Maddie's. He wakes up to a familiar morning after.
domestic terrorism & other forms of foreplay by BekasStrife [E]
Evan put his foot in his mouth, and Tommy left, heartbroken as prophesied.
And look, Evan had wanted to apologize and make things right, but one thing leads into another and now they’re fucking instead of talking— until they steal another helicopter, flee federal agents, and commit domestic terrorism together.
Love is stored in the felony.
(AKA Buck's dick game is so good, Tommy breaks the law for him.)
even at your worst by olivebegins [E]
They were just in the helicopter, and everything was under control.
An hour ago, he had answered a long, ached-for phone call, a breathless Tommy coming through the line. An hour ago, Bobby was alive.
They were saving Chimney. Something light had danced in Tommy's chest when Evan had looked at him. Blue eyes flickered with something that felt like hope. Reconnection if he wanted to push his luck.
The 118's whole world has shattered, and as Tommy watches Evan, it feels a little like his world is collapsing around him, too.
Or: an exploration of Buck's grief through Tommy's eyes. The good, the bad, and the ugly.
hello sunshine (won't you stay) by jamesandanthony [G]
"Okay, class, best behaviour please," Tommy hears the teacher say as he rounds the fire truck being used for demonstration, heading for the gaggle of kids and the poor parents roped in to help chaperone. "Everyone, this is Tommy-"
"Uncle Tommy!" a young voice shouts and, as Tommy turns in surprise, the unmistakable sound of Evan's laughter echoes across the hangar.
His pulse quickens.
Evan.

if you were the wood, i'd be the fire. by milominderbinder [T]
Evan's about five drinks in, flushed red with his curls all mussed up and a damp spot of spilled beer on his shirt, when he collapses into Tommy's lap at their booth on his way back from the bathroom and announces with no preamble, "Babe, did you know Halligans were invented in - in nine-teen-forty-eight?"
or; a drunken buck tries to be romantic by way of firefighting metaphors.
Just a Little Something by writerdot [G]
Tommy didn’t think this was how his morning was going to go, that’s for sure. But he’s sitting across from a gorgeous man, holding his hand in the sun. It’s a beautiful day and he wishes he didn’t have to go to work later.

on one april morning by beefcakekinard (thingbe) [T]
April 4th looks a little different every year.
Someone was at his door.
Someone in a bulky hoodie was sitting on his stoop, leaning back against the door. The black and white camera feed muted a lot of detail but Tommy sat bolt upright, heart hammered in his chest. He recognized the frame, the build, the hoodie. It was his. Stolen by his ex-boyfriend six months ago.
Evan was sitting at his door.

Buck is alive.
Four weeks ago, Tommy kissed him. Four weeks ago, he felt a weight lift off his shoulders that he hadn't even realized he was carrying. Four weeks ago, he said yes to going on a date with a man. Four weeks ago, he never could've imagined he'd be feeling this right now.
Buck is alive.

working on a dream by jamesandanthony [G]
Tommy's legs feel like lead as he enters Bobby's office, heart pounding in his throat as Evan shuts the door and turns to him.
He's honestly not sure where to even start when Evan tentatively asks, "what's wrong?", a concerned look on his face as he steps close enough to take Tommy's hand gently in his own.
Tommy feels all kinds of overwhelmed as he tries to force his thoughts into some form of coherency, tears threatening to start up again when he braves looking into Evan's worried baby blues.
Unfortunately coherence doesn't come and instead he finds himself blurting, "I'm adopting a baby."
Evan's frown deepens even as surprise flashes across his face.
"You're… what?"
