Zarra didn’t realize for quite awhile that Matt was her Amatus, mainly because she had long held the belief that she had already found her Amatus and lost her, without them being able to fully engage in the bond. When icy fingers sunk claws into her chest the first time he was injured badly on a misson she was too worried about the blood leaking from his ribs to recognize how sharp and visceral the fear of losing him was. It was only when after a long mission, a rough day, when he came to the lounge when only she was there and laid out on the couch at her side, totally and completely comfortable with her in his proximity while he was tired and vulnerable, and he shot her a sleepy smile that made her heart start turning tricks did she realize the truth.And immediately began to panic, right up until the moment she comes to him in So Come To Me.
