Shane Headcanons pt. 2
Lets Jas name all of the chickens, even if they end up with ridiculous names
Spends a good portion of his time at work hiding behind pallets of backstock browsing and posting in r/chickens. He knows Morris’ schedule and where all of the cameras are, so he never worries about getting caught. However, he puts in a fair amount of work and can throw truck like no one’s business so it never looks like he’s slacking even when he is.
Has an infectious laugh that makes other people smile when they hear it.
If he had to choose one superpower it would be invisibility.
He didn’t know how to cook when he moved to Pelican Town, but Marnie is gradually teaching him on the weekends or whenever they both have time. He doesn’t cook often because he’s still unsure of himself, but when he puts his mind to it, he’s a pretty okay home cook. The first thing he learned how to make was pepper poppers and he’s so confident about his recipe now that he hands it off to the farmer or whoever asks. If he’s forced to bring a dish to a function, it’s always pepper poppers.
Sometimes inappropriate, but overall hilarious. He has a weird and dark sense of humor and makes jokes about his trauma, but he also loves a good dad joke.
He wouldn’t normally tell anyone that he’d stolen something from work, but he sees that the farmer is struggling when they first move in and gives them the pizzas because he knows how hard it is to start over in a new town.
He only shows up to the festivals for the free food or because Jas begs him to. The only exceptions are the Egg Festival and the Stardew Valley Fair, which he attends because he loves Marnie’s animals. If it were up to him, he would avoid the Flower Dance completely, but Emily coerced him into it and he has a soft spot for her because she’s the only one in town who treats him like a person besides Sam.
Doesn’t believe in ghosts, but thinks cryptids are plausible.
Enjoys reading bedtime stories to Jas and making blanket forts.
Likes to bird-watch, especially on his walk to work every morning.
Sleeps with socks on
Swears like a sailor, though he tries his best not to do it around Jas. However, after the millionth time he slips up, he gives up censoring himself and teaches her not to repeat the words in public or around Marnie, and makes a deal that she’s allowed to start swearing on her 13th birthday.
