After School - Open Starter
The school day was not supposed to end with the final bell. Not on Wednesdays. Never on Wednesdays. Enjolras was supposed to be on his way to the History room. He should have run into Combeferre at his locker, then go meet up with Courfeyrac so they could all walk in together and get the meeting started. But that wasn’t what he was doing. Instead, he was half-heartedly trudging towards the school’s entrance. He wasn’t even allowed to drive. The bus was going to be hell.
He sighed, standing at the top of the stairs. Everything in him was screaming to go back. The doctor said no more meetings with Les Amis until he’d had enough time to heal. ‘You don’t want to get yourself too worked up,’ he’d told him. Apparently. Enjolras couldn’t remember, but his mom insisted that she was in the room when he said it. She was determined to uphold that rule, too. So, he couldn’t go to the meeting. But leaving so soon on a Wednesday just felt wrong. The late bus was leaving in a couple hours. He could find something to do until then.
Pretty soon, he found himself walking down the hall, peeking into each room to see if there was anything he could do. It felt a little bizarre. Being alone in the hallway was nothing new, but when he walked around during study hall, it never felt this empty. When he finally turned a corner and came across another person, he smiled.
“Hey, um...on your way to anything? Or are you just walking around?”
