I finally took some time to revamp my old Akuma!Marinette art. Once called Miss Chance, she’s now Seamstressed!

Like Puppeteer, she controls the dolls Marinette made, and those they represent. But additionally, she has sewing and cloth powers that make her far more formidable. Seamstressed traps her targets in white silk, the color of mourning in Chinese culture. Her powers come from the magic scissors she holds.

Her akuma is located in the broken heart pendant of her necklace.

Lilanette Week Day 4: Akumatized/ Miracuswap

Finally I’ve drawn them together as they’re meant to be! Here’s my old Akuma!Mari/ Reluctant Ladybug!Lila AU. Akuma Mari is called Seamstressed, Lila’s form has yet to be named.

If the male counterpart of a seamstress is a tailor, then why is it that all altered clothes are referred to as tailored? What if a seamstress sews your “tailored” coat? Does that make it seamstressed?

The Seam-Stressed Seamstress: Unique Problem Solving!

I had a lot of free time yesterday. My one friend was away and my other friend was busy with finals. So what was I suppose to do? I spent a good portion of the day doing "errands" (if you want to call going to antique stores errands), but then I had the night to myself. That could only mean one thing. . .SEWING TIME!

I had my heart set on making the Truly Victorian Polonaise for an up coming Steampunk convention, but I wanted to do a mock up first (since well, ya know, fabric is expensive and I spent enough money on this thing already). I got all of my pieces, cut them out, marked them up and the first two didn't fit together. _-_ Oh Joy And Gumdrops!! (aka: shoot me)

I tried everything! Flipping them over, matching the notches and lines, asking my dead great aunt to send some divine intervention. . . nothing. I had to have cut them out wrong or messed up the pattern pieces some how. OK, that means. . .this was not gonna happen. So what to do with less than a month before my event? Get Creative! So you know the Simplicity Steampunk pattern thing with the long jacket?

Well, I made just the jacket for an outfit I call "The Sailor Dress" (I'm so great at naming things!) I had no idea what I was doing and just went right into making the thing. Despite a few minor details, it looked AMAZING! (It's Becca's favorite dress of mine. . .and that means a lot from someone who does not like dresses)

So. . .here's my crazy plan: Make another jacket, attach the train piece of the polonaise under it, and proceed to bustle. I did a practice run of this with my "Sailor Dress" coat and became very excited! I have very, very, very good feelings about this project. . .now hopefully I can get it all done before May 18th. XD!!
