i don't know!! i spent like ten minutes staring at the screen having a BSOD moment and my conclusion is i'm a horrible snob and while i like tropes fine and i do enjoy them as much as anyone else... i never set out to write a specific trope and it's not what i look for when it comes to reading either.
23. Dialogue or description? Why is the other one so hard?
they're both hard i was put on this earth to write extremely obscure nonfiction everything else is like climbing uphill with a boulder on my back (rip me). this being said, probably description, because i can't vizualise for shit. honestly i'm still not sure that this whole 'mind's eye' thing isn't an elaborate hoax. (it's very likely i have aphantasia)
38. "This never happened" fix-it fics or "this happened but" fix-it fics?
oh second one definitely... in general i have more fun with malicious compliance (this happened and i'm gonna follow the letter and fuck with the spirit) than with denial.
You could just do a classic Lets Play of DA: I with a focus on talking about Solas. Maybe ask someone you know to be a co-commentator if that would help, then just play the game and talk about Solas over the top of it, saving the real deep cut thought stuff for Trespasser when his true nature gets revealed to the player
this is certainly an idea. It would give me enough time to really minutely analyze it, sort of like I analyzed the Star Wars movies in slow motion. And then I could edit it down. The problem is that there’s just so many little details to it that can’t be seen in one single gamestate. I would want to stop and play the raw audio files of other gamestates in Frosty Editor or something. Like, it’s important to get ALL the dialogue options because there’s a lot of information. And there’s a lot of stuff in interviews and books.

How amazing would it be if the first time Rey and Ben meet in front of the Resistance there's this moment of tension framed like the start of a duel, only for them to crash into a massive kiss? Complete with the entire resistance being shocked into complete silence
It would be one giant, romance movie worthy, gasp inducing, am I seeing this, probably yodeling, moment ever.
Has SW ever had a big kiss moment like that in front of a big crowd? Haha time to start, mother fuckers!

Hate to say it, but Sun’s never exactly been responsible. Dude is (nominally) a team leader but he’s abandoned them at a drop of hat on multiple occasions, and trying to help Blake even if she didn’t want his help is literally exactly what he did in volume 2
Irresponsible? Yes. Offering help despite Blake objecting? Yes.
But there’s a huge difference between what he did in Volume 2 versus what he did in Volume 4.
In Volume 2, he did eavesdrop on Team RWBY, but he immediately chose to reveal himself to them to figure out a way to help them. That showed thought and consideration for their opinion. Also, it is consistent with the bluntness Sun was known for earlier. He’d listen and then tackle the problem head on rather than skirt around it and waste time. It boils down to “You can’t help me wanting to help you, so here I am right in front of you because I want you to tell me how I can.”
What Sun did in between Volume 3 and 4 was stalk Blake for an unspecified amount of time, cloaking himself and running away from her once she realized he was there. That, in turn, boils down to “I know what’s best for you and I assume I know your intentions even without you telling me, and whatever way I think is best to help you takes precedence over what kind of help you actually need.”
That’s not like Sun at all. Sun would have approached her directly rather than hide. He would have gone up to Blake from the get-go, ask her what the hell is up, and then insisted on helping while asking for her input on how to do so. Because Blake did need help. Because she was travelling alone in a time where Grimm have gotten worse and the world is much more dangerous. Couple that with PTSD from the Fall of Beacon, and Blake’s perfect Grimm bait. So why did he not approach her sooner? Sun in Volume 2 showed interest in formulating a plan of action and ensuring their safety. Why does he suddenly not have that thoughtful tendency in Volume 4? With the Grimm being drawn to negative emotions, he’d be much more considerate about not setting off Blake and making sure she’s as comfortable as she can possibly be. (Because it wasn’t just them on that boat. There were other passengers plus the crew’s lives who could have been in jeopardy.)
In Volume 4 he acts like a complete buffoon who takes the long way around and stumbles over every brick he steps on. V2!Sun would look at V4!Sun and think, “Wow, that guy’s dumb. Why can’t you just spit it out? You’re making this more complicated than it has to be. Geez.”
I also got a couple of asks asking me about World of Remnant because of this question. I’m definitely going to watch them and I _think_ the first of them (Dust) is just after “Painting the Town...” I’m not sure if I should liveblog them or not though since I guess they are mostly infodumps, any thoughts?
RE: Daemon having like three swords on him, reminded me of this great quote from Kill Six Billion Demons:

i mean daemon certainly would have a great time making a killing in king's landing but it's sending me that he has three blades talk about being extra on main!! tho upon reflection maybe he's just being a gentleman and carrying one for his bosswife because it'd clash with her outfit and in the fashion war you really can't afford a fashion faux pas.
