Ethan falling in Vanessa´s spell

Fascination. Ethan is aware of the fascination Vanessa Ives has on other individuals, even dark entities, when Sir Malcolm tells him that she in certain trances is "very desirable."

A vampire knows the name, Vanessa, Vanessa, Vanessa. This will be the episode, 1x03  in which Ethan really begins to obsess over the name of the mermaid aka Miss Ives as the desirable and fatal woman that every mortal or immortal being madly desires.

Ethan´s observation. His eyes will be the windows of his soul for now on. 

Vanessa notices how Ethan watches her, like the vampire who is obsessed with her, she can feel the weight of being the object of desire of all those around her.

The true identity is revealed. Vanessa is not just a mysterious woman, but that dreaded seductive mermaid that everyone fears and loves. She is the divine woman for whom any man would give everything, she is the forbidden and unattainable woman. A kind of Helen of Troy. 

Especially for Ethan, who feels like he's starting to know her now.

Attraction. Ethan is attracted to Vanessa, interested in spending more time in her company. He knows that she is the coveted piece. The woman among women of London.The most difficult and desirable. His interest is growing up.

Total fascination. Ethan is dazzled by Vanessa, the interest he sees the evil entities have for Vanessa is a somewhat unnatural starting point, but knowing it more and more Ethan realizes why. Vanessa´s  absolute beauty, her power, her strength. The dark ones want her, he wants her too.  Who is Vanessa really? Ethan pledges his allegiance to her, not to Sirl Malcolm. All are wistles. . What else can he do? Only then will Ethan be close to Vanessa. 

Food. Vanessa must make up for Ethan's admiration for her, and the little-concealed loyalty he holds only to her. Ethan is there literally because Vanessa is in Sir Malcolm's Mystery Company. That's why she swears allegiance to Ethan as well. Vanessa perhaps willingly or unwillingly fuels Ethan's desire.

Revelation. Sir Malcolm reveals something about Vanessa that goes beyond what all of them, including Vanessa, thought. The most powerful being in the dark desires her. To Vanessa. Ethan looks interested at Vanessa's figure, who is horrified. The desire inside him grows, but from the loving point of view, absolutely, more than sexual. It is the disease of being, romantic love. From now on Vanessa will be someone to aspire to, the divine woman to dream of and never reach. Ethan knows it. The thirst has in fact already begun.

Friendship. Ethan feels thirsty, it's obvious, from the first episode, "Night Work". Vanessa can't be his lover, not yet. But she can be his friend. Ethan confesses to her the fountain where he calms his otherwise repressed sexual desire. With Brona Croft. Vanessa smiles, accomplice. Ethan offers her friendship, and Vanessa acceptance. But when he tells her that Brona is ill and doomed, the last point of Ethan's fascination takes place in this first season before giving rise to the most desperate love for Vanessa in this series. Vanessa shows a cruel profile in this single scene. So she does not hide her true fatal nature, her mermaid seduction, the spell that she seems to have cast against Ethan Chandler. Cruelty. Vanessa tells  that Ethan loves Brona because she is "a lost cause", unconsciously implying that Brona is someone shorter and more miserable, someone who is not equal to her, neither as a woman. She would never be a rival for Vanessa Ives. Vanessa Ives is thus a being full of shadows as well as lights. But few notice this cruel leave of Vanessa towards Brona. Ethan does, but smiles at Vanessa. Ethan Chandler is absolutely seduced, in love with Vanessa Ives, and therefore indulges her gratuitous and elegant evil. She is his spoiled girl, the bad witch he wants at that moment

Spell to Keep a Secret

Occasionally, we find ourselves in possession of knowledge that we wish we didn't have -- either accidentally or because someone told us something we didn't really want to hear. If you worried you might accidentally blab and betray a confidence, do this working to help you stay strong and keep your mouth shut.

Materials:

A hand mirror

A bay leaf

Do this spell outside on a windy day, and go where you can be completely alone.

Hold the mirror in one hand so you can see your face, hold the bay leaf in the other.

Say into the mirror:

I know something I should not know

I heard something I should not have heard

I learned something I should not have learned

Whisper the secret three times to the bay leaf.

After the third time, say:

I will never speak these words again

Never will I betray a friend

Tear the bay leaf into tiny pieces, and scatter it into the wind, letting go of the secret.
