Monthly Devlog!!!

Hi everyone, its finally time for the long-awaited monthly Devlog!!! And what better way than to start on the end of the first month of the new year! First off, I just want to say thank you to everyone following our team as we continue to build Secrets Keep. You guys are awesome!
There’s been a lot of activity and involvement within the group the last few months as we've been racking and stacking new assets as fast as possible without compromising on the quality of the game. There’s still a lot that needs to be done, but I'm confident that the end result will be worth it!
As you may know, we have been posting screenshots on Saturdays on our Twitter page, so follow us if you haven't yet to see cool progress shots of the game! For this log and every upcoming one I will also be posting those shots here for those who haven't seen it on Twitter!
Now onto the details~
Currently, we are making the maps for the first chapter of the game, which will also be considered the demo as well. I didn’t realize just how much time it would take to even make one map. There’s been a lot of back and forth when it comes to using the RPG MV engine. For one, we’ve gotten a few errors with the map itself not lining up well with the editor grid but our wonderful programmer has been able to cough fix my mistakes cough solve the problem! Here's a sneak peek of a few maps and rooms we've been able to make so far!
Let me tell you, parallaxing is quite tedious, but its so well worth it!
And now before I forget, here is a proper introduction to our main character!
Angela Parks is a student of St. Garden’s University, a well-known and prestigious institute. At the start of the game, she wakes up to find herself in the middle of the bathroom floor covered in what’s definitely not ketchup. She has no recollection of the night before or why she has a large bloody knife in her hand. It’s up to her to figure out what happened and regain her memories in order to piece the puzzle back together. And who’s the mysterious girl that keeps roaming the halls of St. Garden’s?
There are also other characters in the game, of course, but we'll keep their identities a secret for now! Hehe, get it? Secret? No? Okay.

I will be updating their character busts in the near future. During the development, my art style has changed and I'm sure you'll like the new style much better once we release the official version of the game.
As of right now, we have a set date for the demo to be released by February 29th. Despite all our efforts, there is still much to be done and it could be that we will be unable to meet the deadline. It’s more likely we will have it done by March, but we’re not promising anything! we want to give you the best version of the game because you deserve only the best!
We will make a proper announcement the closer we get to finishing the demo, and we will continue to post further developments along the way, so hang tight!
