Hey, Tem, do you want to tell us about your latest fiberwork projects?
Oooh I would love to, thank you for giving me an excuse!
My main project right now is a double-knit blanket that I'm making for my brother's birthday. Now that's not until next year, but my stretch goal is to have it done in time for the county fair at the beginning of July. I need to do about 3 rows a day to make that happen; so far I've kept on track!
I'm at 106/250 rows; you can see we've got the wardrobe, the Pevensies, and Fledge done, as well as a good chunk of Aslan's mane and the beginnings of the lamppost. I love seeing this come along!
The weekend before last, I also went to YarnCon and got quite a few pretties:
The first three on the left are sock yarn (grey + rainbow striping, black + rainbow striping, and a luscious dark walnut brown) with no definite pattern in mind, just an "I need to add more neutrals to my handknit socks".
The next two are aurora borealis worsted that's actually UV/blacklight reactive; that will be paired with an almost black charcoal to make this sweater. (I immediately pictured a raven taking flight against the northern lights when that sweater was released and have been on the search for the perfect aurora yarn ever since.)
The next two are sock weight again with sparkles; those will be paired with a plain black to make Tracery, because that yarn screamed "stained glass" to me and I need more vests in my life.
And the final skein is my one unplanned yarn purchase, because I could not resist sock yarn from an Ohio dyer in a colorway called "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald".
So yes, many many things in the queue/pipeline, but right now it's all Narnia blanket all the time. Good thing the pattern is so interesting and complicated so as to keep my interest.
Thanks for asking!
