You know, I don’t know much about genetics, but one idea I hear often in fanon is that seekers only really have other seekers as sparklings. I know this is more meant to emphasize how special they are, but I find it interesting that if alt modes are inheritable traits, then are some more dominant than others?

Like, taking this headcanon ultra-literally, then that would mean that the traits for seekers, aka a jet alt mode, would be the most dominant gene when it comes to alt modes and so there would be only a small chance of having anything other than a seeker. What other modes would be more or less dominant? What traits could be passed on?

Someone who actually knows genetics and likes transformers worldbuilding should figure out what cybertronian genes could work, because I’m certainly not insane enough to learn genetics for this

Seeker headcanons

Seekers are naturally very curious and want to know everything about anything. They're curious about everything and have coding in them telling them to keep digging deeper into something, to always want to find out more and why it's that way. They have that natural instinct to dig deeper. Think of the song Wonderful Life by Zendaya from Small Foot, that's essentially seeker attitudes towards everything around them.

It's a really big problem for Megatron because if they find any little bit of information that they aren't supposed to know they'll dig the entire thing up thanks to that pull to want to know more and then they'll know too much. It's also a problem because he can't get them to just follow orders blindly at first because they have that pull to know more and why things are the way they are. He also has trouble getting them to stop working on something when they've gone far enough for him because they want to know more, sometimes ending up learning too much.

The seekers and Vos were the furthest ahead in the field of science, their city just wasn't as developed as Iacon because they wanted it that way. They dug the deepest into anything and everything so they also had the most information about Cybertron and the universe discovered. Seekers also happen to be very open minded about scientific discoveries and if something is disproved they still added it to the archives in Vos, they just made sure to mark that it was disproven. They are very aware with more science discovered it could perhaps be proven right so it's important to keep that record.

The natural curiosity also fuels ambition a bit which is partially why Starscream is the way he is.

Seekers kept a record of discoveries and other things vital to seeker culture and survival or the things that contributed to certain fields in all of Cybertron, that such, in a big library/archive of such. When the war broke out they moved it, but no one except the seekers knows where. To keep them safe, the seekers pretended that all the knowledge of the archive was lost to Cybertron.

I can’t decide which headcanon I like better.

A group of seekers is called a Murder. (inspired by crows)

Or

A group of seekers is called an Armada. (because they’re jets)

Probably not the only one but I like to headcanon that Seekers/Flightframes make both cat and bird noises or some things of a bird or cat like nature.

A little thing about seekers, they are not resistant to cold. If left in the cold or in a cold area for far too long they end up shutting down and curling up on themselves to gather energy. Before the emergency shut down occurs they are reported to act all sluggish and slow. Additionally, if they are bonded with another person that is NOT a seeker they can also feel their cold energy and can be alerted to them in time for them to get help, although this case was not for Comet as Rung doesn't know much about Seekers.

Okay- but a smol lil headcanon for an idea.

Seekers having specialized weather protectant on their plating so that they can handle the high industrial pollution on Cybertron, and the acid rain that follows. They get to Earth and it’s the purest it’s been for them in ever. They don’t know what to do with all the odd sensitive sensor nets. 

If you consider how much acid degrades said sensor nets?

Earth must feel like paradise.

I was thinking... What if seekers has long legs and strong tights suits their body combat style? They fight more with kicks than anything else since their wings are too sensitive and they try to protect them when fighting. Replace a broken thruster? No problem! Replace a wing? Ouch, that must be difficult! (Plus, imagine having your head between those gorgeous thighs wink wink)

Great headcanon. Also, probably why Megatron wears that helmet. To protect his head from beautiful but powerful thighs
