During the era of slavery, occultist Paschal Beverly Randolph began studying the occult and traveled and learned spiritual practices in Africa and Europe. Randolph was a mixed race free African man who wrote several books on the occult. In addition, Randolph was an abolitionist and spoke out against the practice of slavery in the South.

After the American Civil War, Randolph educated freedmen in schools for former slaves called Freedmen's Bureau Schools in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he studied Louisiana Voodoo and hoodoo in African American communities, documenting his findings in his book, Seership, The Magnetic Mirror. In 1874, Randolph organized a spiritual organization called Brotherhood of Eulis in Tennessee.

Through his travels, Randolph documented the continued African traditions in Hoodoo practiced by African Americans in the South. Randolph documented two African American men of Kongo origin that used Kongo conjure practices against each other. The two conjure men came from a slave ship that docked in Mobile Bay in 1860 or 1861.

Seer Report - 02: Prarieville Sidhe

It's my last night in this little town, and I thought I might share my experience.

-recurrence of last year's black dog omen, not far from the first location.

-mysterious coal black cows, disappeared after one night and never seen again.

-strange lights by the treeline of mysterious cow yard.

-on cow night, a large atmospheric shift, to the degree of homes and streetlights appearing to be without power and a ceasing of traffick until the shift had passed.

- a wooden post come back to life with a small tree (branch?) growing out the top of it.

- massive footprints from an unknown source found following my path upon the walk back home (pictures below).

- incessant knocking on my second floor window (I checked for a natural explanation for the tapping) which drew me outside to observe the significant moon phase I'd forgotten about my last night here.

- an actual meeting via dream with fae royalty.

These are my firsthand experiences. My high school friend from Prarieville also had family stories of fae-like activity.

EDIT: Almost forgot about the vision with the giant snake spirit. It seemed to be a nature spirit. Generally not harmful unless provoked. Appearing aggressively christian counts as provoking it.
