The elderly sage tilted up his head just enough to PEER at Orochimaru from underneath the brim of his sedge hat , a look of dry amusement on his face .
❝ Leave ? ❞ he asked with the slightest chuckle in his voice . ❝ &&. do what ? Keep chasin’ after you ? I gotta admit , it’s not really as fun as it used to be , Orochi . ❞ He lifted an arm to rest on his knee , bent upward as he lounged against the trunk of the tree behind him . ❝ Maybe next time . If there is a next time , that is . I’ll be surprised if you can catch me twice . ❞
As a member of the AKATSUKI , he should be ashamed that Orochimaru managed to track him down at all . Well , Jiraiya would see to it that that never happened again . Then again , Orochimaru had always had tricks up their sleeve .
Their sylphlike figure is well hidden under the fabrics of an overly long cloak, hiding their hands as black sleeves loosely hang over their limbs, a tail of material that drags ever so lightly on the forest floor. Additional coverage to the hood drawn over their head shielding their visage in the form of midnight hair, spilling out from the dark material to run down their chest like spilling ink, a long fringe covering a portion of their face. Revealing only one chatoyant eye and part of their fanged smile.
“Oh? What a shame, I quite enjoyed having you chase after me dear,” they say, a hint of coy playfulness, as they step out from the shadows of the trees to expose their slender figure. They have no doubt that he had been aware of their presence before they had spoken, before they had stepped out for the rays of sunlight to filter down upon them. He was forever a man a few steps ahead of the game.
“A greater shame that you imply this might be a final meeting. I was hoping you would ask me to stay a little longer.”
Never one to miss an opportunity, nor is the serpent one to be left out the loop. An organisation as powerful and insidious as the Akatsuki would not stay off their radar for long - although they certainly had been later to the party than their dear comrade, Jiraiya.
“At least long enough to acquaint myself with your new friends.”
Blood was powerful, Shinki had decided. Blood was the reason that his power was so great -- a power passed on from the Sandaime Kazekage, he’d been told. Father hadn’t revealed much of Tetsujin to him... Simply that his power had been unmatched in Sunagakure’s history and his death had started a series of events that had started their village on the path to ruin.
And that Tetsujin’s return had nearly done the same once again.
-- But he wanted to know more. There was only so much his father could teach him about his abilities, about what hidden potential there was residing within him. Shinki rapped his knuckles against the wooden door and waited for a response.
The feeling is familiar as she observes the other—that knowledge of being observed like an insect in a jar. It’s what she’s doing now, just watching, having been stationed here. (because she is trusted, she is elite, she is more than these pathetic worms) they are deep within twisting tunnels of laboratories & prisoner cells & it is here that she’s been watching quietly for a while, curious.
“ you’re pretty special, aren’t you? ” she drawls, crossing her arms.
When Sakura had first rediscovered the Ryuumyaku in Roran, she’d been excited. With her past in Konoha far behind her, it had given her the incentive to discover more about her past and heritage, especially her father’s side that hailed from the ancient, slowly revitalizing kingdom. Except, in her eagerness to learn Ryuumyaku Chakra Control only those descended from Roran could, awakening the ley line had done the unthinkable: send her to the past in the least expected place.
To see Konohagakure after being so drastically alienated from it almost thirteen years ago was a hard pill to swallow. What’s more, her sudden had appearance had been within the village proper, in the busiest thoroughfare conceivable. Sakura sat up in a daze as a ring of people warily encompassed her clutching her throbbing skull. It was only when the haze subsided that she realized how outlandish her arrival was, and how any hope of bullshitting some hasty backstory was out of the question. Especially if they had the barrier up, and in garb outlandish amid the rest. Chancing a look towards Hokage Mountain, the two faces projecting regally from it was indication enough of what period she was in.
Goddammit, Haruno! We’re really in the doghouse now, sage or no-- Oh shit, are those Anbu? Espying the masked figures atop a roof overlooking the morning markets, a cold sweat broke out.

is she suppose to react to this ? she’s sipping on her tea , calm as the other studies the textbooks thrown about the table. it’s not like she particularly cared about what he was studying but she did enjoy taunting him and so after cup is placed down , she leans forward letting long locks of red brush against the table and places cheek against open palm, “ nerd tobirama. ” a teasing lilt to her voice as dark eyes dance in enjoyment, and she taps his book with pointed fingernail, “ everything is an emotion. all your actions are dictated through your emotions. ” grin widens because she knows she’s bothering him when he would prefer to be alone , “ i thought you were the smart one between you and your brother. ” a fake sigh as she leans back , dark eyes glancing upwards to the ceiling, “ i came all this way to konoha and mito-sama is busy. shouldn’t you be keeping me company instead of reading all of that text ? ”

ONE
Kiba, much like the dogs he grew up surrounded by, often fell victim to explosions of overexcited displays of affection when he was truly happy over something. His family had been on the receiving end of such bouts many times. Even poor Shino had endured a fierce tackle or two from him since they'd become teammates and friends.
He couldn't help it. When he was happy, he wanted to share that with those closest to him. It was such a good feeling that others had to experience it with him. It made everything better by default.
"Hinata!" A wide grin stretched across his face, the only sign of warning she had before he skidded to a stop in front of her, his arms catching her around the waist and lifting her clear off her feet. "We did it! We passed!" He spun her around, delighted laughter filling the air.
He stilled, set her back on her feet. He felt almost giddy, practically vibrating with hyped energy. "You did it. I knew you would." She may not always have confidence in her own abilities, her own strengths, but he had enough of it for both of them. "You were brilliant." He didn't even think twice about doing it. In that moment, it seemed like the logical thing to do. What was a kiss between friends, anyway?
He stepped back from her suddenly frozen form, and both brows lifted at once in surprise.
Huh. So it's not just Naruto that turns her face so red…
TWO
He's always felt so protective over Hinata, right from day one. He couldn't explain it even if he wanted to try. He would, quite literally, die for her if it came to it.
Stretching out in the grass alongside her, a slow smile spread across his face as he watched her sleep. It had been a day's hard travel so far, and they had several more ahead of them before they reached their mission goal. He'd have to keep a watch on her, make sure she didn't push herself more than she needed to. She so often got caught up in looking after them that she sometimes forgot to look after herself.
Well, that was what he was for.
He reached out, brushed a lock of hair out of her face, being careful not to wake her. She just looked so peaceful. He didn't want to ruin that. With a silent gesture, Akamaru got up from his spot beside the fire and padded quietly around to her back, settling behind her. She wouldn't be going cold tonight, he'd make sure of it.
Fondness warmed his eyes as they lingered a moment longer on her face. She probably didn't even realise how much she meant to him, probably didn't think herself worth his care. He leaned in, pressed the faintest of kisses to the tip of her nose. I'll make you see it, one day. Just watch me, Hinata.
Grinning, he settled back, head pillowed on his arm. He'd watch over her tonight.

An extra pair of hands was always welcome in the Inuzuka household when there was a litter to manage. Particularly when one set of hands – namely, Kiba's – was far too distracted in playing with the new pups to actually help out.
Akamaru, ever patient and tolerant, stretched out in the pen whilst small paws pounced and prodded at him, puppy teeth gently tugging on his ears in play. Leaving him to it, Kiba scooped up one of the smaller pups and stood, cradling the wriggling creature to his chest.
He stepped over the walls of the pen, keeping a firm hold on the pup who seemed determined to scale this human mountain in search of a face to lick. Hinata sat at the nearby table, taking a well-earned break after helping Hana carefully weigh and measure each pup. He took a seat beside her, the pup in his arms immediately trying to wriggle toward her.
"Hey, I think this little guy likes you." He grinned, giving her very little warning before he deposited said pup in her lap. Its little tail was a blur of movement as it tried to climb up her front, soft yaps expressing its excitement at this new person. Kiba's eyes softened at the sight before him, his chest filling with warmth.
He couldn't resist.
Lightly catching her chin with one hand, he tipped her face to his and stole a kiss, swift and sweet. "He's got good taste."
FOUR
"Alright, Akamaru!" He charged, launching into the new technique, trusting that his ever-loyal companion would be in sync with him. They struck the target, a perfect hit, leaping back to land together, stances primed for a second attack. Kiba's eyes flashed with pride and a smug grin lifted the corners of his lips. Perfect.
They'd been hard at work training for this new jutsu for weeks now, but this was the first time it had worked flawlessly. It made all those long hours totally worth it. With a puff of smoke, Akamaru return to his regular four-legged self, and expressed his own delight at their success with a hearty bark.
"Good job, buddy." He dropped to one knee, hands sinking deep into the soft fur of his neck, giving his pal a good scratch.
It wasn't clear which of them smelled her first. Akamaru's tail began to wag only a fraction of a second before Kiba rose to his feet with a fierce grin, turning just as Hinata stepped out from the trees, a basket hanging from one arm.
Hinata. She'd dropped by their training grounds every day, without fail, just to bring them lunch. Always looking out for us. Akamaru reached her first, tail still wagging as his nose automatically dipped into the basket she lowered to the grass. Kiba was more focused on her than the food.
He drew her in, kissed her deeply like a man starved. "You always know the way to my heart, huh?" He laughed, giving her an affectionate nuzzle against her cheek. "What would I do without you?"
FIVE
Morning sun filtered through the curtains, filling the room with a soft, warm glow. A single narrow gap remained where the cloth hadn't been drawn fully across the window, a beam of light spearing straight onto the bed, splintered over the curves of the body beneath the sheets before illuminating the flyaway strands of dark blue hair splayed upon the pillow.
Kiba stirred, a whine of complaint upon his lips, his arm tightening over the slighter frame beside him. His first instinct was to bury his face into his pillow and refuse to acknowledge the morning, but the weight across his legs was a living, breathing alarm clock that he couldn't just shut off.
He cracked open one eye, then the other, his expression softening as his gaze fell upon the slumbering face mere inches from his own. She always looked so peaceful when she slept. He smiled as she, too, stirred in her turn, her body instinctively turning towards his. Mornings were always worth this view, he mused to himself.
His lips found hers before she was fully awake, his hand sliding up the curve of her side to gently twist into her hair. He felt the moment she woke, her lips pressing back to his in response. He felt the gentle curve of movement that told him she was smiling, felt her hand settle comfortably against his back.
Felt Akamaru slink off the bed with a disgruntled whine as his master skilfully rolled atop his partner. His morning walk would be late.
Send “SEVEN MINUTES” for my muse to generate a number 1-25 of what happens between our muses5- make out on floorIt would seem that as the days went on, and as weeks turned to months, the village was far less on edge with the viper around. So much so, that being seen in public was not something most had aversion to. The two males had been invited to a small party, the serpent assuming Jiraiya was the one they wanted to invite, but knew he could not abandon his duty of parole, and extended the gesture to both. It didn’t bother the snake that he was likely not on the guest list for fondness but rather practicality. It was in its own way rather pleasant to be seen as less of a threat. Enough for people to involve alcohol in his presence. Not that they should be of course, the light weight criminal was the first one to lose his natural grace to the influence of drinking. The ebony haired Sannin stayed closest to Jiraiya of course, never leaving his side. That was likely how they ended up in this predicament.Without paying much attention to the sequence of events, the serpent ended up crammed in to the small space of the closet with his parole. A soft bout of laughter falling from the males lips, almost sounding chime like as he is unfazed by the proximity. If anything, he quite likes it.
What are the rules of the game in this situation? They’re not clear, and the amber eyed male decides to make his own as his slender arms wrap around Jiraiya’s neck, fingers guiding through snowy strands of hair as he tangles them there. Keeping a hold of the other to stand at the edges of his feet, so that their lips may meet next. Orochimaru hums softly in to the kiss, and since there is no rejection from his comrade, he forwardly moves to deepen it. Either they’re both drunk and about to regret this, or alcohol slackened enough of their self reservation so they may make the final advance. The heated exchange ended them both up on the floor, tongues fighting in a playful and challenging manner, the serpent allowing his fingers to glide down the man atop hims back, nails digging lightly in to flesh, leaving scratches he assumes. It wouldn’t be right if Jiraiya left this with no marks after all. Despite the white haired Sannin being heavier, the viper didn’t mind the extra weight, too caught up in the moment, quite content below him. The softest form of a moan leaves the serpent, moments before he draws away for breath. But not before tugging at the mans lower lips with his teeth. One last playful nip. Golden eyes meet the man atop him, finally allowing soft laughter to replace the previous moans- he’s noticing the taller males weight now.“As fun as this is my dear, I can’t breathe.”
He half expected this, showing up at a place with a bunch of people sizing him up-- And since he looked far more feminine than he had hoped, it drew a lot of unneeded attention, but he didn’t think someone would actually approach him. While he had talked to Haku, he felt his muscles tense before slapping away the hand that had touched his shoulder. Just who did this man think he was? Granted, he probably didn’t know.
‘ Forward is one way to describe it. ‘ He said calmly with a sigh. ‘ Do you always go around doing this, sir? Or is tonight just a special night? ‘
