All of it is just beautiful.

 Sejic gives the women of DC the proper respect they deserve by writing them with humor, fun and agency. He seems to be respectfully aware of the progressive comic fans’ (myself included) popular wishes such as making Cass Batgirl/Batman/The Black Bat or having Ivy and Harley’s bisexuality be recognized. Along with LGTBQ+ characters (like Batwoman) getting their happy endings.  

His designs for the women of DC are awesome yet practical with taste. It is great that rather then going full-on “sexy”, their costumes are feminine but eye-catching and suitable for combat. For example, Starfire is longer designed as pin-up girl (cough*Red Hood* cough*) but as true warrior princess.

With all the chaotic management DC has been through, The heads of Times Warner need to wake up and do what should have been done a long time ago, put Stjepan Šejić in charge of DC. Period.

Stjepan Šejić isn’t just another comic artist on dA. 

He has the longest consecutive run of Witchblade like, ever, he worked on Rat Queens, he’s been employed by both Marvel AND DC, and Death Vigil was one of the best stories I ever read. I am still mourning it’s demise. 

So listen when the man tells you to stop fan-translating his work. He’s a croatian comic artist and he’s been through hell the past coupla years with his work and his country has already lost out on  a lot of companies and good artists because of crap like this. Sunstone as an independent story is already a risk in this market. Don’t steal his paycheck and the future of his career, ok? He’s done good, solid work and the industry needs more people like him.

I’d really like to keep reading about the relationships and stories Sunstone has to offer. I’d really like to see Death Vigil come back, at least for some sort of an epilogue. That’s not gonna happen if you don’t support the official release wherever you can, even if it’s by reading them on his dA page. 

Don’t bitch at his publisher for pulling fan translations from the internet. That’s their security, their employees’ security, and Stjepan’s security. That’s families with children. That’s single people working their asses off for an industry they love. That’s an artist who’s given us interesting stories and wide worlds and incredible art. His version of Wonder Woman is one of the best damn ones I’ve ever seen because she’s built realistically and she looks truly Amazonian. 

Give the guy a fuckin’ break for once. Just once, damn it.

I feel one of DC's greatest strengths right now is not just new talent and ideas, but also Returning Talent.
