overplanning for roleplaying parts can be counterproductive, while overplanning for sessions and (self) expectations - not exactly a fun process - is critical. good to know i guess (°▽°)

I feel myself becoming increasingly hostile to those who complain of boredom and then complain of having no hobbies or talents. Those who just expect achievements to fall from the sky and then pity themselves when it doesn't happen and become envious of those who achieve. It's a lazy dodging tactic, typically British, no excuse.
I can't stand to hear people moaning about lack of things to do! How about stepping out of your philistine, narrow little minds and embracing education and culture? Perhaps broaden yourself, learn a musical instrument, research something you enjoy. These days we're given the means to do whatever we want and we don't appreciate it.
I've tried to clarify things into simple black and white: if you dedicate time to something, and patience, and approach it positively, you will improve at it. If you put the work in you'll get good grades. If I put the work in and moderate my gastronomic indulgences I will achieve washboard abs. If not I'll stay flabby -end of!
Those who waste their time being vacuous, close minded philistine lichens sucking everything should, if they could, transfer their time to me so I can:
- get 4 As at A level - get to grade 8 and beyond @ piano - learn violin, guitar and a brass instrument - write more - play gigs etc - read more - learn to surf - ski more - learn Italian - make more money - DO MORE ART! - write more - cook more - get involved in Youth Parliament - broaden my political/historical knowledge - broaden myself in every way - find some decent boys - run/cycle/skip/yoga more - family time/friend time more - give more! help people - change society - walk Tessa
this is perfect
What are your expectations? Do you deliberately set them or is it unconscious? Are you trying to meet expectations that no one has for you?
