A person in this community has been harassed for years now and I am tired of it.

I have a friend @waymorehandsome who has been being harassed and alienated for years now by someone who has had an unhealthy and disgusting grudge against them that started over a fictional character. It spiraled into disgusting and unsubstantiated claims of pedophilia, abuse, harassment, and other things.

My friend has been dealing with this constant abuse for years now, and I'm so sick and tired of it because never once have I seen any proof of these claims.

Do you remember the @selfshipbeware account that was up recently and only existed to to harass Steorra?

I had a conversation with them, that they initiated, and saved the whole thing. Plus their awful replies in one of their posts.

This is obviously a burner account but I firmly believe this to be the person who has been harassing Steorra for years now, especially with how quickly they admitted to not having proof and doing this because they hate them. I don't have absolute proof on that though, so I will not say their username because I cannot fully prove it.

If you still want to block Steorra after reading this, fine. Please just at least see how this person is acting when I ask for even a tiny bit of proof and just their attitude in general.

If you want to block me or whatever after reading this, fine I guess. I'm only here showing what happened when this account spoke to me and if you don't like me standing by my friend that is your decision.

Also, if there's actual proof of this person's claims, show it to me. I can admit I'm in the wrong if that's the case, but until then I am standing by my friend.

This Person Really Said Only Straight Monogamous Self-Shippers Are Valid LMAO

Okay so I need to talk about something absolutely wild I came across recently.

There's this person (abrielleofchrist on Tumblr) who made a whole ass post about how self-shipping is only "valid" if you're a heterosexual, monogamous, non-sharing self-shipper. Yeah, you read that right. They literally said that polyamorous self-shippers, sharing self-shippers, and LGBTQ+ self-shippers are "not valid" because it goes against "biblical standards."

Let me be clear - weaponizing religion to shame people for how they enjoy FICTIONAL CHARACTERS is absolutely unhinged behavior. Like genuinely, what kind of mental gymnastics do you have to do to care THAT much about other people's imaginary relationships???

Here's my take: this person is clearly just bitter and jealous because they're single with nobody to love, so they're out here trying to police how other people find joy and comfort. It's giving sad, it's giving miserable, it's giving "I'm gonna make everyone else feel bad because I'm unhappy."

And just so we're crystal clear - I'm pansexual, polyamorous, and into open relationships. I'm not gonna suddenly become heterosexual and monogamous just because some baby on the internet is crying about how I enjoy my F/Os. My partners and I are happy, we're thriving, and we're not changing for anybody.

The audacity to bring scripture into self-shipping and then act like YOU get to decide whose relationships are valid??? Girl bye. Log off and go touch some grass.

Anyway, I'm putting this out there so people know what kind of nonsense is floating around. Do with this information what you will - I'm not here to tell anyone what to do, I'm just saying this person's take is absolutely trash and deserved to be called out.

It makes me sad there is hardly any content for the ghost of tsushima games. And its such a good game.

I dunno if its because of the whole thing of it not getting as much love as other games when it came out. Or if it's people fearing of doing any x readers,self inserts or ocs. Like y'all do it with other period/history based anime,games and movies,why is this any different? This hasn't stopped people.

But for some reason there isn't any content. Maybe art here n there. But hardly anyone writes about the characters.

I honestly don't know the reason why there is such little to no content. You'd think people would be all over it.

But maybe people still have this weird prejudice about games based around asian cultures,i know it's not always the case tho. Specifically Japanese culture,that isn't anime like or modern era based. And if it is period or more history based. Then its always during the edo or meiji periods. Which dont get me wrong. Is pretty interesting. And still great. But japan has a rich history and many periods to base your stories after. Feudal japan is quite interesting in itself. Maybe prejudice is a strong word. I dunno it's just people are weird about certain themes in stories I've noticed. Maybe im reading too much into it.

Heck a lot of the feudal history throughout human history is interesting.

I know some people just aren't into it. Anf thats fine. I just am curious. Again this isn't to point fingers or vent.

I just am genuinely and innocently curious as to why this fandom is so small.

But if you aren't looking for realism for any x reader or fic material for this game. There is plenty of mythos in the game you can play off of.

I just feel so sad this is a missed opportunity for creativity too.

And also trying to find content is like finding a match in a wet cave. 😔

I can make my own content for sure. But its just sad hardly anyone does it too.

can i just say, its so weird to see selfshippees with 'proshippers dni' when they have. slasher f/o's or otherwise problematic f/o's.. (to note, i dont participate in shipping discourse so im neither, but with the way my views are, supposed antis would hate me and proshippers dont care so i think yall r cooler and better to be around lol)

Not to get discoursey but how do you feel about aging up characters?

Aging up as in aging the character with us? For example, I fell for this character when I was 13 and they were 15 now I'm 18 and I age them up to 20 and make a design where they're that age. Is that considered problematic?

No worries, I knew I was gonna get someone asking about this as soon as I answered the other ask lol, I’m just happy its someone nice!! I’m gonna explain a bit so this might be a tad longer than how I usually answer asks

I am of the mind that’s it’s usually a natural progression to take honestly, which is why I was so specific about it in the other ask. Media doesn’t age at the same rate we do nor does it guarantee we’ll ever get to see the characters that far in their lives Bc of endings or writing  ambiguity or whatnot, the most important part is that you’re not keeping them that age with you so much older in your mind! Aging up characters and having that reflected in your personal designs is genuinely fun, Plus you get to explore things that aren’t available in the canon you’re given with them

I know there are a lot of people in this community who tend to compare it to a form of pedophilia, which is why it’s a matter of discourse at all, but the way you’ve described it is actually a really healthy way to go about it! It would only be  pedophiliac if you were 18 and intentionally keeping them at 15 regardless of things like internal change and mental power dynamics

There does come a tricky line that I’ve noticed that’s related about people aging themselves down to be with certain characters and I think it all depends on how it’s handled both ways tbh, if you’re aging yourself down but you’re treating it as a way to insert yourself in the plot in more of a backstory sort of way to your current self then it’s usually fine and makes sense

I know that was slightly off-topic but, I do have characters that I personally use the story in their media as a way of a backstory for my self inserts to have met and/or changed things, not to mention things like slow burns and ~Drama~ and ‘what ifs’, but actual romantic things stay here in the general present where I’m older and they’re older too

A big part of it is there’s no surefire way to say what’s right or what’s wrong in a general way because of how differently everyone’s brains work and the way media IS, The only way you can really tell is based on individual intentions and how people like, handle things.

TL;DR: You’re valid Anon, and I’m so sorry if people in this community have made you afraid of sharing or being excited about certain F/Os because of topics like this, I know it can be rough, You’re always welcome here!!

Imma say it because I needed to hear it and I know there are other self shippers that need to hear this.

It is ok to fall out of love with your f/os.

You are not a bad person.

You are not abandoning them.

You do not need to worry what others will think of you.

Self shipping is here to make you happy and if it's not doing that anymore? It's perfectly ok. Period.

I know a lot of self shippers stuggle with mental illness, attachment issues and a whole lot of other things.

Some times when you stuggle with mental illness your emotions can be a rollercoaster. There is nothing wrong with having whirlwind romances with f/os. Some times you can be madly in love and they can consume your soul & the next week the emotions are gone.

It's not a judgment against you, or how you experience love & attraction.

Working things out with self ship is normal and ok. And it's not a judgment of how you'd be in a real relationship. Just beacuse you drop f/os doesn't mean you would drop an irl s/o without good reason.

So in summary shout out to my self shippers with:

Bpd, DID, bipolar or any other mental illness that effects your self ship. You aren't broken and you're not a bad person. It's ok to struggle making and keeping attachments. You are no more or less a valid member of this community. 💗
