I cried a bunch today, which made my nose run, which made me sneeze, and then I couldn’t *stop* sneezing, and I had to work an eight hour shift constantly succumbing to huge harsh sneezes (mostly into my mask/elbow, occasionally into tissues) and blowing my nose every five seconds, and like three different coworkers asked if I was coming down with something and I had to be like “no I just cried 😭😭”
Have a little, swollen lymph node in my neck that is currently ensuring that I cannot and will not stifle or sneeze in any way that's not fully unrestrained and obnoxiously loud and spraying because of said inability to hold back at the cost of pain lol
Just doused my phone so much there were drops rolling down the screen..😭
Feeling like a cold commercial right now, my whole throat feels sore but it's got that weird feeling that just feels 'sick', like, I have no way of describing this lol
I'm so tired and my body is heavy as fuck, really need to blow my nose but the paper towels are across the apartment. Also need to shut my window because I was hot earlier but now it's cooling down outside and I'm chilled but the thought of sitting up is too tiring.
Punishment for my snez crimes lol
Hey, I never finished self-obs-ing my cold, did I? And after 16 people were interested enough to place bets on it...
Anyway, after foolishly thinking on Monday that I'd be fine in the morning and wouldn't need any more tissues, I woke up on Tuesday morning with no tissues and immediately sneezed messily 5 times in a row.
Turns out that I'd seriously misjudged this cold as "not that bad, won't last long" just because I didn't really feel ill (no headache, have had plenty of energy the whole time, temperature definitely normal--very unlike the last time I was ill which was unfun and for me very unsexy though I'm sure whumpy from an outside perspective)--I mean, in some ways it's not that bad, but it's lasted just as long as any other cold and is also quite possibly the sneeziest cold I've ever had.
Since it was raining very heavily on Tuesday morning, and I was working from home and not on camera, I spent the morning at home sneezing messily and blowing my nose into the shirt I'd worn the day before since I didn't have tissues. Wish I'd taken photos as it ended up very snotty. Finally went out to buy some around midday...going outside meant my nose started streaming and I've never been more desperate for a tissue, as soon as I'd paid for them I was tearing the pack open to blow my nose and completely soaked through several tissues within a few minutes.
For the rest of that afternoon my nose was burning, I felt like I needed to sneeze constantly...frustratingly I only actually sneezed...well, still quite a lot, I think, but only about half as much as it felt I needed to. Very sniffly though, used up a pack of tissues over the course of the afternoon.
Wednesday was less intense, still sniffly with the occasional sneeze, needing to blow my nose from time to time but not that much...and then for most of today, I was just very mildly congested, only needed to blow my nose 4 or 5 times (no longer going through tissues at the rate I was, either, one pack lasted me through Wednesday and most of today).
But now suddenly this evening I've started having messy sneezing fits, 3 or 4 at a time? I don't feel like I'm getting worse, more just sneezing the last of the congestion out, and it's...not unenjoyable...I've got myself another pack of tissues and I'm just going to see how long this sneezing lasts, and maybe make another attempt at recording but my mic is terrible.
This morning I got to work and had to go to a meeting first thing, so decided to run to the toilet. I was just finishing washing my hands when a light, tickly, insistent itch suddenly bloomed really high in my right nostril. It was so intense I knew I didn't have long, but my hands were all wet, so I tried to grab a paper towel to dry them, but... no sooner had I yanked one from the dispenser, my breath was already hitching insistently. I literally just got this paper towel to my face before a breathy, tiny sneeze was flying out of my nose.
"hhhHHAadshoo!"
It was kind of unsatisfying haha, but it left my nose tingly which was nice. I was hoping it would come back, but it didn't :( guess I'll just have to do some inducing. Such a shame haha.
