My Patterns
I got inked today!
I got a tattoo!
Got my first tattoo! I've been wanting this for a long time, but I'm a big baby when it comes to pain, so I kept putting it off. But, I've been going through some really rough shit lately and I told myself if I made it through the first month of what I'm going through I would treat myself to this tattoo. Well, I made it through the first month, so there was no backing out and I'm really glad I did it!
“I’ve been sleeping so long in a twenty-year dark night and now I see daylight.” Depression and anxiety have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started getting help in April of this year. Even though I was on medication and going through therapy, I tried to take my own life twice last month. In the midst of everything, I lost nearly every friend I had. My whole life has been thrown off course. But I now see that everything had to fall apart for me to get better. Taylor Swift’s music has helped me throughout more than half of my life. Even though I don’t always see “daylight” because of my mental illness, these words are a reminder that everything has the potential to get better. I’m sharing my story because you never know who around you is struggling. If you need help, please reach out to someone and don’t let yourself get to the point that I did. (Thank you, @/sadboykurt on IG, for this incredibly meaningful tattoo and for doing a semicolon for me as well.) @taylorswift
