A friend sent me the link to the shirt and commented it looked like something Kaleo would wear, probably cropped. This was born. Feeling like I should modernize a few other characters and see how it goes, now. :V

An impressive clump of Roscoea purpurea 'Spice Island' (hardy ginger) was flowering at the entrance to Great Comp Garden, Kent, UK. This herbaceous perennial has dark leaves with deep red backs and thick, deep red stems. It puts on the best display in semi-shade with plenty of moisture but good winter drainage is essential. The pink and lavender flowers will provide a display for over a month.

This amazing Roscoea purpurea f. rubra 'Red Gurkha' has sturdy red stems and green leaves, and holds its red flowers close to the stems. An herbaceous perennial that grows up to 40cm tall and thrives in a semi-shaded location but will tolerant a sunny position if plenty of moisture is available during the summer along with good winter drainage. These beautiful specimens were growing in a border of Edinburgh Botanic Garden, Scotland, besides some magnificent Lobelia tupa (devil's tobacco).
