to continue the tradition of pairing yamaguchi with shiratoris, consider yamasemi.

both know the pain of not being a regular, semi especially so since he got ousted in his third year. both also know that they don’t really have any outstanding talent – though yamaguchi is polishing off his jump floater serve.

i think about ushijima and yamaguchi just being friends and yamaguchi spending time at the shiratorizawa campus. when he shows off his jump floater, semi is FLOORED. he thinks it’s really awesome that a first year can do that, so he helps yamaguchi refine serves in general, and maybe even teaches him a thing or two about setting.

semi, like many people because i ship yamaguchi with people thinking he’s cute, happens to notice how goddamn adorable yamaguchi is. he’s kind of awkward, though, in that the way i play/write semi is that he’s not really… socially adept? but he’s not socially anxious, just kinda blunt in an energetic, passionate sort of way. so he probably just blurts to yamaguchi that he’s cute and the two blush and stammer at each other before semi clears his throat and asks him out.

semi is passionately into drawing, and i headcanon that one day he wants to be a mangaka. he shows yamaguchi some of the stories he’s working on, and in a headcanon i’m playing with, he’s also colorblind, so he asks for yamaguchi to help him decide on colors. he’s got a massive collection of labeled colored pencils so he can tell the colors apart, and writes down which colors he uses.
