Hi! I don’t know if you take requests, but if you haven’t read Ruth Ozeki’s A Tale for the Time Being, I HIGHLY recommend it. It was beautiful. I was hooked from the first line, and even though the book went some dark and difficult places, it was life-affirming and lovely. It alternates between Nao, a girl raised in California who moves to Japan and deals with bullying and her father’s decline into depression, and Ruth, a writer who finds her diary washed ashore.
Hi, lovely! I'm happy to take thoughtful recommendations, and I love reading people's favorite books to see why they love them. That sounds like a really smart collection of topics, and also like I'm going to be sobbing by the end. 😭 I'm always pulled in by beautiful writing and characters. I'll add it to my TBR! Thanks for the recommendation! 💛
