Five years ago during my senior week in high school I was given back the drawing on the left. I drew this painting when I was five years old. Drawing has become a passion and something that I do every day. I have come so far with my art and I am so proud. Drawing takes times, patience and tons of practice. Keep doing what you’re good at! I will keep drawing! (I am also super happy to say that I have drawn every day this year so far!)
Illumination Night
I’m staying on-campus for an extra two weeks to work commencement and reunion which means that I got to watch Senior Week unfold! Smith has a TON of traditions including Illuminations Night. Held the night before commencement, the campus is lit up by colored paper lanterns. Alumnae, Seniors and everyone else walk around campus and the botanic garden as music plays and a cappella groups perform. It’s a truly whimsical night and I feel so lucky that I got to experience it! In three years, that will be me!
Lanterns as far as the eye can see!
More lanterns!
The Botanic Garden had extended hours until 10pm so I wandered around with one of my friends for a bit!
Smith lit up this sign over paradise pond to celebrate the Class of 2019!
Cute note left by an alum in the Botanic Garden!

Today (6-11) is the 29th anniversary of the end of my “Senior Week(actually 10 days)” at Myrtle Beach. Damn that makes me feel old.
That ride home was a ride from hell. I might write about it for next year’s 30th anniversary(i might have already, will have to double check). But needless to say staying up all night drinking up the rest of the beer we had (Should have sold at $5.00 per can to other teenagers), 95-100 degree temps, loading up one last time at The Filling Station (Pizza/sub/wings buffet) and a 300 zx, with t-tops and no AC is not a good combination.
I might be "slim thick" and I might hate it but I'm gonna keep posting body positive posts bc maybe I'll learn to like it sooner than later
Marquette University Senior Week 2017
Genuine question: does Samwell have a senior week or something similar? At mine (and I think most private liberal arts colleges in the US) there was a week between finals and graduation where the seniors mostly hung out and drank a lot. There were some school-sponsored events, like a family picnic the day before graduation and special convocations for LGBTQ & POC students, and also some school-sponsored drinking. But yeah, I would be very surprised if Samwell didn't have something like that.
