As a headache prone person with sensitive eyes, I am so grateful for the kagenashi or minimalist shading style.
Examples of over rendered anime that hurt my eyes:
The use of filters is so excessive that it looks blurry and the details get lost. It's frustrating looking at the behind the scenes of Violet Evergarden.
So much detail lost. It reminds me of when beginner artists get really into rendering and their artwork ends up looking muddy and cluttered. No examples of course, I am not going to shame anyone.
Handshakers is the worst of this, it's so bad that I refuse to look up still images for this post. There's also that Silksong game where the visuals are the most common complaint I see, even among those without sensitive eyes. I also can't read the Aurora comic by Overly Sarcastic Productions.
Compare this to something like Sonny Boy.
Thank you for not using the smudge tool for my sake. This makes it so that even shots with a lot of detail and moving parts aren't difficult to see or look at.
Anyways, off to the grocery store I go.
