Zaun might be an ODD and dangerous place, but at least its chaos is fairly straightforward. Take your typical mad scientist, for example - mad folk whose plans forbid them from working anywhere else, causing them to climb down where the cops won’t bother looking and do with the city’s resources what they will. It’s quite unfortunate that these ‘resources’ tend to be the city’s people. The SOLUTION? Find the bastard and break their jaw. You bash their head in real good if their acts are truly horrific, and you destroy their work so nobody has to suffer from it again. You help the people. SIMPLE. Usually every threat brewing in the City of Iron and Glass can be dealt with more or less the same way. Follow the pattern, neutralize the threat, make sure everyone’s safe.
So what exactly are you supposed to do with a threat that doesn’t fit into the PATTERN you’ve come to know? That can’t be beat into submission? Well... He’s working on that. It’s taken him 3 rewinds already and, truth be told, he hasn’t learned much yet and he’s freaking out a little, but he’s working on it! There’s something DARK and ominous whispering ahead, chilling the naturally warm and polluted air of the city. Ekko got a bit too close once and the monstrous figures jumped on him on sight, missing him only because he’s light and quick on his feet. His weapon passed right through them as though he’d missed his attack and, faced with a frightening lack of options, Ekko reset the continuum and thought. Think, think, think. What are these things and how can he keep the people SAFE from them? Preferably without dying in the process, of course. Ekko looks around. Is anyone coming to help? At the very least, he’d love an eye witnesses that could help him prove to his friends that he fought a bunch of fucking GHOSTS.
