What do each of the Nindroids think about Steam Powered Giraffe?
So I was having a conversation with a friend and this topic came up, so time to list our findings, plus my own takes! And, also, for those who don’t know: Steam Powered Giraffe, in short, is a band whose gimmick is that each member is their own robot, all of their songs are in character and they’ve also got ✨lore✨.
Zane
He LOVES them. Although it took a while (actual years) for him to get that they’re not actually fellow nindroids, just people dressed up as them. Zane finds a lot of their more robot-centric songs relatable and has been to several concerts.
Pixal
More of a casual fan than anything. Their stuff is objectively good and she likes all of what she’s heard, but she’s not as into it as Zane (and certainly didn’t not realize the band is human). Her favorite is probably “Only Human” because it reminds her of her time with her father before she got roped into the ninja’s shenanigans (she also recognized the true message of the song which was the robots taking care of a sick person and she enjoyed that hidden meaning).
Cryptor
Oh he HATES them. Like, with a burning passion. Everything they do, sing, and write is clearly an attempt to mock nindroids and their struggles. How dare.
Sentry
He’s heard of them and doesn’t really have any strong feelings either way. It’s objectively good music, just not the stuff he’d listen to. He’s also the one mainly responsible for calming Cryptor down if the music is played in proximity to him.
Echo
Not Mr. E? He loves them, same as his brother!
Mr. E? Uh- he totally didn’t listen to their entire discography in one night! What are you talking about? Shut up. He hates them with a passion! Just like Cryptor! He only went to that concert or dozen just to make fun of it afterward with Cryptor!
Movieverse Nindroids
M!Zane, M!Echo, M!Cryptor, M!Mindroid, and Kaigami
HUGE fans. They’ve been to multiple concerts, have merchandise, and even cosplayed all six robots with Chen (the cheerleader) once. Each have their own favorite songs and albums but they can agree they LOVE the band.
M!Pixal
She’s heard of them and listened to a few songs. Much like Show!Sentry, her feelings aren’t really here nor there on them.
M!Sentry
Comfort band. He’s not a mega fan but he does have a shirt or two and likes the subject matter the band tackles in their songs as it pertains to robots/nindroids.
