fictitioussouls asked: i fucked up, i know that, but jesus – can’t a girl just do the best she can? (from Emily)
Hidden from the mortal eye, Ishtar watched the woman in her emotional outburst as compassion bloomed in her chest. She had always been so protective over women, whether they followed her or not, they held a special place with the goddess, especially when they’re hurting. Pulling away her glamour, she emerged from the shadows, exuding an aura of peace and comfort as she approached the other.
“Hey, are you okay?” The words were as soft and reassuring as the hand that placed itself on the humans’ shoulder.
Emily thought she had been alone during her outburst - the only time she felt safe to have an outburst without the fear of her husband lashing out at her. However, when she heard a voice, soft, almost like a whisper, followed by an equally soft touch, she quickly looks up to find the woman who had spoken. She hadn’t heard anyone approach - again, she thought she had been alone - and she’s sure she wasn’t hallucinating.
“Who are you?” She asks, hating the waver in her voice as she stumbles back a step, though she doesn’t run. She wasn’t scared, which was odd enough. She was just confused and upset and- “I’m sorry, I thought- I didn’t think anyone else was here.”
@sepsu is basking in the sun
He was the golden son of the most high god of his pantheon. The sun burned in his long hair and the clear blue sky shone from his eyes. And those perfect clear eyes darted about like an animal’s, for he was more wild creature than god or man- yet.
“He outsmarted me,” He said more to himself to the goddess occupying the same room. “He can’t see the future yet he outsmarted me. . . This marriage wasn’t my idea and yet here I am. . . “ He turned on his heal with the grace of a dancer or an animal. “Did you want this marriage?”
sepsu replied to your post: ‘ perhaps i will take up dancing again ’
ISHTAR USED TO DANCE SO MUCH WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER AND THE IMAGE OF THEM DANCING TOGETHER AND HAVE PURE FUN FILLS MY HEART WITH SO MUCH JOY BECAUASE INA IS DEFINITELY GONNA MAKE HEL JOIN HER
NOBODY TOUCH ME IM EMOTIONS
‘ perhaps i will take up dancing again ’
and these bones. ll accepting.
“I would love to see that.”
Honesty paints each word with light, honey weighing down the sentiment. With an easy grin, she turned her attention to Ishtar’s beautiful form, mind drifting to ancient temples and broken streets. Did any of them know how lucky they were, to see the Queen in all her beauty, lithe-footed, controlled?
She would not have needed divinity to be worshiped. Of that, Hel is absolutely certain.
Leaning ever nearer, conspiratorial, she spoke with the same sunlight on her tongue. “Do you know any of the new dances? I could teach the few I’ve picked up, if you’d like. Though, I am sure whatever you have in your repertoire outpaces anything I know.”
More than sure, in fact. Could this world withstand Ishtar’s maneuvers, she wondered, without being brought to their knees? Her friend was beauty incarnate, and terror, and mortals would fall for her easy as breathing, as dying. And somewhere deep inside of herself, Hel could hardly wait to see what the older goddess would make of them.
“If you take up dancing again, I mean. Please, don’t let me pressure you.”
#i just want to remind everyone that #hel is highkey ishtars favorite #and shed die for her
and ishtar is high-key hel’s favorite and she would LIVE for her.

❝ people around here or just in generally, really, are only interested in who can drink the most and who is sleeping with who. i’m not saying i’m necessarily above it, but i don’t really have time for it. ❞ plus she heard the whispers around campus about her. it made trusting people around her hard. stanford classes weren’t a breeze and she was trying to balance law school with making sure she was on track for a spot in the fbi. didn’t leave a lot of free time anyway. sometimes she would hang out with her roommates, but other than that she was always locked in her room doing something, in class, or emerging ravenously for food. ❝ i’m sure there’s any number of parties over on campus if that’s what you’re into, though. i’m just the completely wrong person to ask about it. ❞
