Whenever I remember that a LOT of the Wings of Fire fandom has never read/forgotten the Guide to the Dragon World I cry a little . the content in it is AMAZING and it gives so much information on the various tribes (and it gives information on characters from all the previous arcs!!!!!) I discussed this before here but I wanted to mention it again . + Being sad about Winter
One thing that I especially love about the book is that it hints that Winter is POPULAR with the LOWER CLASS . And it suggests that during his visits to the ice kingdom, he's actually visited the various villages and chatted with some of the villagers there!!!
As said by Caribou the Icewing, "And it was pretty fascinating to meet Prince Winter. He was quite different from how I imagined the royal family." And before stating this Caribou was criticizing how Icewing royals aren't very open minded and don't care about the "lower class" icewings, suggesting that Winter DOESSSS
I really wish that Arc 2 didn't mess up Winter's character arc though, it just seems like he had all of his character arc off-screen, where he's suddenly described as being rather silly and nerdy and kind, as seen in this book + his appearance in book 14. Maybe it's just because the Talons of Peace have been really good on him mentally? But I really wished that he 1. Sticked with the group through JMA 2. Wasn't forgotten after book 7 and 3. Had his arc properly in book 7-10...
ALSO I find it so funny that, while Moon and Kinkajou has their own sections, Winter has (what I presume he made) a newspaper article about not eating scavengers and it's SO FUNNY "STOP EATING SCAVENGERS!!!!!!!!!!!" yes with around that any exclamation marks. ITS SO FUNNY I LOVE IT
The most I've seen with people tying stuff from the guide is with the Mudwing fandom and they've literally done so much with the Mudwings... I LOVE how much was added to the Mudwings sm . they have specific jobs for each troop; healers, treasurers, gatherers, and communicators! (alongside the bigwing of course)
also theres Liden and Sequoia yuri shoutout to the most yuriful tribe ever . they write yuriful letters to eachother
