Day 3 of Januaraptor, featuring Serikornis sungei

This controversial genus of stem-bird lived in China during the Late Jurassic, alongside other dinosaurs like Anchiornis and Yi qi. Some scientists believe that Serikornis is a junior synonym of Anchiornis.

I tried out a different shading style for this one and I think it looks nice, so I may continue using it.

Tried to replicate an old-fashioned etching/engraving look, with a rectangle border to make it more Professional and Scientific. Smaller birds/dinosaurs were scaled up, but everything is vaguely to scale.

What did the last common ancestor of Velociraptor and modern birds look like? Anchiornithids might give us a clue. These small dinosaurs lived 160 million years ago and are known from incredible fossils, often complete with skin and feathers.
