Smilodon fatalis being woken up in the middle of the night
This is pretty much my first time fully drawing a mammal that wasn’t just a sketch. I think it came out pretty well

This is Ferrisaurus sustutensis, a leptoceratopsid dinosaur and the first non-avian dinosaur known from British Columbia.
It was discovered in 1971 by Kenny F Larsen, a Canadian geologist, while prospecting for thorium. The fossils he found were slightly radioactive. Larsen’s imprecise mapping made it difficult for palaeontologists to identify when and where the fossils were from.
Found in the Tango Creek Formation, this region would’ve been a lowland floodplain and riverbed sandwiched between the Skeena fold belt and Omineca highlands. Though my depiction may be a bit exaggerated, the forming mountains would have looked something like this, and even nowadays resemble how I believe the area looks.
This piece is also heavily based on a photo I found from Pinterest. I liked the composition but I kinda wish I made it a bit less reminiscent of the original
Sorry yall, I haven’t been posting in a while since I haven’t had any inspiration for paleoart recently. If you have any suggestions I would be very appreciative!
Results from tonights #paleostream!
You might notice a slight parental theme ;)
Apteribis, Parachoerodon, Lavanttalornis and Maiacetus.
Nanaimoteuthis was a cirrate octopus from the Late Cretaceous of Canada and Japan. It was possibly among the largest of octopuses to ever live, with extreme estimates reaching 16m (41 ft). More conservative estimates suggest that it ranged from around 3 to 6m (6 - 21 ft). Evidence suggests that Nanaimoteuthis would’ve hunted large marine reptiles like turtles, mosasaurs, and elasmosaurs.
This design is heavily inspired by the one by Astrapionte, but that’s because their design is just how I imagine it would’ve looked like.
The new Muttaburrasaurus, featuring an new rendering style of mine.
I feel like this piece came out really well, but I will admit that the perspective is held together with duct tape. I’m probably going to keep with this style for my paleoart but tell me what you think
Auuuugh… now I gotta draw this
An old drawing of mine, Giganotosaurus carolinii
Just wanted something to post for now while I get some motivation to draw again
Question for y’all. If there was a Jurassic version of Prehistoric Planet what would you want to see? I think it would be cool to make some theoretical concept art for something like that
Caiuajara dobruskii, Lord of Caiua.
Caiuajara was an inland pterosaur, living in arid regions and likely eating mostly plant matter and insects. Fossils have been found of over 40 of them in a small area, so it’s possible that they lived in large flocks.
The colours are inspired by Rey Dau from Monster Hunter which has some nice gold and blue hues that I liked
so this is basically hwo it is
Okay I know I’ve been gone for a while but I just had absolutely no motivation to draw anything for a solid week, but at some point I managed to put together these pieces for day 4 and 5 of Januaraptor.
Rahonavis and Borogovia
These ones were relatively simple just because I was doing them at like 2am each
Enjoy
As promised, the prompt list for my Januaraptor challenge
Day 4 of Januaraptor, featuring Rahonavis
Just a sketch today, since I’m really tired and just not feeling it today. I’ll have it finished by tomorrow along with Borogovia
I’ve decided that I’m probably not going to have any pieces ready for today, since I’m just getting back into things after the holidays, so I’ll probably post the drawings for the week on Sunday, and the same until the end of the month where I probably won’t have much of a schedule
Day 4 of Januaraptor, featuring Rahonavis
Just a sketch today, since I’m really tired and just not feeling it today. I’ll have it finished by tomorrow along with Borogovia
Day 3 of Januaraptor, featuring Serikornis sungei
This controversial genus of stem-bird lived in China during the Late Jurassic, alongside other dinosaurs like Anchiornis and Yi qi. Some scientists believe that Serikornis is a junior synonym of Anchiornis.
I tried out a different shading style for this one and I think it looks nice, so I may continue using it.
Day 2 of Januaraptor, featuring Kuru kulla.
This velociraptorine lived temporally between the Djadochta formation and the Nemegt formation, in the Late Cretaceous. It was slightly more sluggish than Velociraptor, indicating it might have hunted slower prey or been more of an ambush predator.
I’m not very happy with how this one turned out. It’s meant to be in harsh shadow but I didn’t show it well, so I might come back to this one
