I like the Lucas being ill/dying at the end theory, but in case that isnt what's planned, do you think he might get his memory erased instead? Just throwing this idea out there because he reminds me of a character from Generator Rex (who's also named Agent 6 and has ties to an organization also named Providence) who gets his memories erased at the end. Maybe they took inspiration from that, or maybe its just a bigg coincidence

I don’t think so, because if he’s left alive at the end then 47 would keep looking for him. He wouldn’t stop until he got him back, just like with Vittorio and Victoria. In order to wrap up the trilogy, I believe things need to end the same way they started. Unless Grey decides to ride off into the sunset alone once he’s finished his job with the Partners. 

But,

47 asks Grey what will happen after they take out the Partners. And Grey says they’ll cross that bridge when they come to it. 47 is already thinking about the future. He wants to know what will happen. It doesn’t sound like he’s ready to go back to his old life after this - so something needs to happen that will change that, just like the end of Silent Assassin. 

I could be wrong though, and maybe future Hitman games intend to use Grey, or reboot the series entirely.
