I have a novel idea. There's less than a week until Thanksgiving so why don't we stop thinking about buying things for Christmas and put our focus on being thankful for what we already have. I know that I'm blessed with family and friends, and I am very, very thankful for all of them. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday because it hasn't been corrupted by greed and consumerism. I used to be dirt poor. Even then, I was thankful. On Thanksgiving, I always fed someone who was less fortunate than me. I thought it was important to show my kids how to be a good person and be thankful. I had to. No one should go hungry. I have, and it's horrible. It's hard to get a good job when you keep passing out from hunger, but I digress... All year long, I feed everyone that I can. Being hungry taught me to do that. I am thankful for having been that poor because I learned to be thankful, and I gained the knowledge and understanding of how satisfying it is to help others. The smile on a person's face when you hand them a homemade dish that was made with love is a glorious feeling for all parties. Please, look into your hearts and celebrate Thanksgiving by being thankful and giving love and support to your fellow man. It's the greatest gift of all, and we can all do it. A kind word, a plate of food, whatever you can do. Just do it. It feels great, and it's the right thing to do. To me, Christmas starts the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is a time to be with loved ones and to show your love and be thankful for being able to share a meal with them and others. There is no better feeling than being kind and thankful. You can't buy it because it's priceless.
I am very thankful for all of the beautiful people that I have met here on Tumblr. I love you all. You've made my life a better place to be, and for that, I'm eternally grateful 🙏🏼 😍😁
